Additional Information

Join us on a small group exploration titled ‘In the footsteps of WW2’, where we plunge right into history. This tour is an excellent supplement to our Jewish history tours in Amsterdam and the Anne Frank House.

This historical journey is an extension of our existing concentration Camp Vught tour, and includes visits to locales of significant events like Operation Market Garden, A Bridge Too Far, General John Frost and the battle of Arnhem. We will delve into this intriguing part of Dutch history during the tour.

Key features of the tour include former Nazi concentration camp, with sights of barracks, memorials, and a crematorium. Corrie Ten Boom was a war-time detainee here. Several Jewish children from this very location were transported to Poland, while hundreds of rebels were executed.

Our tour also encompasses the sites of Operation Market Garden and the battle of Arnhem, unraveling the strategy, its failure, and its consequences on the Dutch population and the Allied forces. The tour essentially includes a visit to the exhibition at the Airborne Museum in Arnhem, the war cemetery, and the John Frost Bridge.

  • Travel time and Lunch time is included in the total duration of the tour.
  • Please call ahead if you want to bring a wheelchair. We can take most foldable ones!
