Educational and exciting day - Eight of us were on the May 9 tour. Matthew was our driver guide. He made it very educational, informative and fun. We saw moose, arctic terns and trumpeter swans in the wild. No beluga whales - next time!!! The last time we were in Anchorage on a cruise ship day, I rented a car and drove us to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Portage Glacier, Turnagain Arm, etc. It is so much easier and better to have a knowledgeable driver guide!

Good for good for someone with limited mobility or without a car - The first stop was at a gas station about 45 minutes out of town. Then we went through the wildlife conservation Center, which is a really cool place. On a previous visit I was able to walk through it and get a better experience seeing all the animals. On the tour, we drove through and stopped here and there to get out and take pictures. The last stop on the tour was a picture stop at a lookout point to see the portage glacier. Then we made the return trip back. The drive is beautiful, but I found it easier to see the same things and enjoy them with a rental car. I think the tour guide was fairly new. I learned a few things, but there was not a lot of information provided.
