Amazing sight seeing and food tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide - We had the most wonderful unexpected tour. Chris, our driver and guide, took us all over Anchorage and up the coast. He talked about history, interesting facts and took us to four specially chosen food venues so we could sample. We had the most delicious ice cream, fried chicken and milkshakes, scones and fish tacos. He told us stories along with the history. It was an amazing finale to our Alaska trip.

Excellent combo of food and sights. - A really interesting tour to sights just outside of downtown Anchorage. We were lucky enough to see seaplane take-offs and landings at Lake Hood. Chris provided us excellent stories to accompany the sights and did well to accommodate my schedule. Food was of course excellent and included spots I wouldn't have found on my own.

Anchorage Tour & Local Foods - I have been in Alaska since 1967. I learned facts about Anchorage that I never knew. Chris has obviously does his research and history! Not only did I learn new facts, Chris made sure it was very entertaining. We were taken to several locally owned resturants starting with one of the oldest restaurants in Anchorage Lucky Wishbone. Then taken to Earth Quake Park, locally made ice cream, Beluga Point, locally made cakes, Bear Tooth for delicious cod fish taco. Such a wonderful fun and interesting tour! Walked away with a happy full belly of Alaska local food. Alaska Siights & Bites offer several Anchorage tours and I would love to try them all!

Super Experience - One of the best tours we have taken. The commentary was very interesting, learned many interesting facts about Anchorage and Alaska, and Chris was quite entertaining. The food was delicious and a great sampling of what Anchorage has to offer food wise.

Nice afternoon introduction to Anchorage and local bites - We had a great tour with Chris. Enjoyed all the stories and sightseeing spots. Good food at local spots. Stopped at Earthquake Park, Beluga Point, and where the seaplanes take off. Happened upon a moose while driving by the airport.

Happy Belly AND Happy Brain - TLDR; book this tour. If there is only ONE thing you do in Anchorage, this should be it. My belly AND my brain are happy and full. 4+ hours of food, Alaskan history and stories, sightseeing and all from the comfort of a very spacious and comfy van. It is in the top 3 best tours I have ever taken. Ok now for everyone that wants an extended review… My husband and I are frequent travelers, and look for a food tour in every city we visit. I think we have become a bit of connoisseurs in this area. We both agree that a good food tour needs to have good food. A GREAT food tour needs to have good food, a good guide, and good history/culture. This tour was a GREAT tour. Here’s why: FOOD I will start here, it’s why you’re here after all. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was leery that I would be fed a bunch of reindeer stew and salmon and the sorts of things the average Alaskan doesn’t eat on a daily basis. I was wrong! Our first stop was to a restaurant older than the state of Alaska. We had some delicious fried chicken (better than most I have had in the south), corn fritters and a delicious milkshake. All this in our first stop! In fact, this stop impressed us so much we went back today for lunch. I loved that we were eating at a true Anchorage staple. I don’t want to give away everything and spoil any surprises for anyone else, but our next stops included some amazing baked goods, ice cream, and fish tacos. Everything was a full portion, and we left the tour FULL. So full, in fact, that we skipped dinner. One thing that makes this tour stand out is that at several of the stops we were able to pick out what we wanted to try. That’s a level of personalization I have not experienced before and I loved it. TOUR GUIDE Chris was born and raised in Alaska and it shows. He has so much knowledge and a clear pride in being raised in Alaska. He CLAIMS he is the more introverted of his brothers but you wouldn’t know it. He was so easy to talk to and was eager to answer our never ending questions. He happily regaled us with tales of Alaskan heroes, his own experiences growing up in Alaska, being chased by a bear, and of course the food and restaurants we were visiting. CULTURE AND SIGHTSEEING We saw SO MUCH. Chris went out of his way to try and find wildlife for us AND even had binoculars at the ready for when he found it. He took us to see seaplanes, mountain ranges and other local attractions. This felt like a city tour that also left you fat and happy. I wish we had enough time to do the other tours offered by this tour company.
