Highlights

Angkor Wat - We begin with a pre-dawn departure (4.10 to 4.30 am depending on the time of year) from your hotel for sunrise outside Angkor Wat. Enter the great temple in darkness from the little-visited eastern side, and creep along hoary cloistered corridors past the longest stretch of bas-relief carvings in the world.

Soak up the atmosphere of dawn at Angkor Wat, from the edge of one of the ancient library pools. We then explore the interior of the great temple, spending a thorough two hours discovering the corridors, central chambers and upper terraces of this truly great temple. Your expert local guide will decipher the myriad of stories behind the bas-relief carvings, and give you an insight into life during the height of the Khmer empire. We end our tour at Angkor with breakfast outside the temple (take away, from your hotel), and a short rest.

Great tour, with extremely knowledgeable Tour Guide! - Early morning is the best time to see Angkor Wat. Awesome privilege to be there at sunrise. Mr Sokpee is incredibly knowledgeable and we learnt so much, not just about the Temples but also Cambodian culture. I think 3 temples in a day and then finished just after lunch was the perfect 1 st day. Then morning rest before going off again to visit the Lake, seeing how people live on the water before seeing the sunset. A perfect end to a perfect trip. Also, the cold towels and cold water from our driver was certainly appreciated, back on the bus between temples. I would recommend this tour 100%.

Tour guide so knowledgeable and charming. - Brilliant day with Mr Sokpee, who is so knowledgeable. Early start but worth it as you get to finish just after midday. The best way to see Angkor Wat, I think. It was lovely to get back onto the bus each time to be greeted with cold refreshing towels and water by our driver. First day was worth every penny, now looking forward to the sunset on the lake tomorrow.

Super guided tour, most interesting. - Although the morning sunrise was cloudy, this didn’t impact at all on a most enjoyable sightseeing trip. Our guide Mr Sokpee was very helpful and informative and always open to respond to our groups questions. Our guide driver was equally helpful and attentive on a very hot day. Looking forward to part 2 of our trip tomorrow.

Review from Gaon Korea GNUE - We have excellent traveling in Cambodia with Chhay. He explained histories and the structure about Angkor Wat. The sunrise and the temples were moved to me so I want to visit here again with our family and meet Chhay again as a tour guide.

Chhay is highly recommended as a tour guide. - Chhay was an amazing tour guide. He was knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our needs. We wanted to know more about local foods so on our return to the hotel he stopped at a street vendor and got us traditional bamboo sticky rice cakes.

Fascinating Experience - We had done two tours with Journey Cambodia, 1. One day sunrise visit to Angkor Wat and other temples 2. Tonle Sap Fishing Village & Flooded Forest On both occasions, Mr. Bun was our tour guide and Sal our driver. The sunrise with the backdrop of the ancient Angkor Wat was a magical experience and subsequent tours of the Temples were fascinating. The village trip was a wonderful experience too and we enjoyed the boat ride to the second largest lake. Our guide Mr. Bun is extremely passionate and loves his job and went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and enjoy both the tours. Highly recommended.
