• The Plaza Central Park - Begin your walk through this monastic town at the “Plaza Mayor” or main square, featuring the “Mermaids Fountain” at its center. From there, visit the “City Hall”, “The Palace of the Generals Captain’s”, and the “Cathedral”. The fourth side of the square is lined with souvenir shops, coffee shops, a library, jewelry stores, and more.

After lunch (at your own expense), head to San Antonio Aguascalientes, renowned for its vibrant and beautiful handicrafts.

Visit a women’s weaving cooperative to learn about the creation of huipiles, crafted by hand using the ancient “tejido de cintura” (backstrap weaving) technique. You’ll have the chance to try the technique yourself and create a colorful piece to take home as a souvenir. This activity takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.

Additionally, you can participate in a workshop to learn about the lives of the artisans and experience how a Guatemalan family lives.
