Patient, kind and lovely host. - I spent a couple of hours with the patient, sweet and delightful Momo, who guided me along the street, pointing out the characteristics of each of the shops, relating their history and explaining the Japanese labels, before ending in a place where she knew there were bathroom facilities and a couple of good cafes to rest my weary self. This then enabled me to double back to the shops I most admired, to carefully select the items I knew I couldn't find at home. It was lovely to have someone to chat and share the fabric appreciation and vibe of this busy street. It may take some patience, though, to find the treasures that really catch your eye.

A different kind of shopping! - We had so much fun with MOMO! Granda, my son and me took the tour because grandma was looking for quilting fabric. MOMO was so patient with us and extremely knowledgeable of the area and where we could find specific items. We had a blast and found some good stuff!

Great tour for fashion craft enthusiasts! - Great tour if you like any type of fashion related craft. Momo knows every corner of Nippori and can find the type of material you’re looking for if you tell her in advance. She’s very friendly and her English is flawless. Remember to wear your comfortable shoes as she says, as walking around all the Nippori stores takes a lot of walking, but it’s worthwhile.

Fabulous tour of Nippori fabric district - This tour was fabulous and a must for anyone who sews or just wants to appreciate a different part of Tokyo culture. Momo is a wonderful and patient tour guide who explains the history of the fabric district, the character of each store, and helps out with every transaction. (And I made a lot of transactions!). We visited stores specializing in dress fabrics and notions, but there are shops dedicated to leather, home fabrics and anything you could imagine related to sewing. Definitely walking involved as the district is about 1 km long with shops on both sides. It’s an easy train ride from anywhere in Tokyo on the Yamanote line. There are cafes nearby for much needed refreshment after your tour. I’m already wishing for another visit!

Enjoyable and Fruitful Trip - Momo-san had contacted me before the tour to find out my areas of interest and my favourite sewing projects, and then she brought me to the right shops to find the fabrics and sewing tools that I was looking for. Especially the "last stop" at Satoh Bin, which offers fabric pieces in affordable prices for my quilting projects. It has been an enjoyable and fruitful trip for me, thanks to Momo-san's recommendations.
