The place is spectacular, but the high difficulty level is misleading. The second day is a very steep climb and against t - The tour is offered with a moderate difficulty rating, however we have seen that even young people have trouble finishing the tour on foot. We are walkers but the difficulty level is high. My wife became indisposed during the night and we informed the guide at the time of starting the ascent on the second day. (With a very high difficulty level, contrary to the "moderate" level indicated by the agency.) We were warned that we had to arrive in time to meet the transport, or we would have to continue on our own, we were offered a mule for 80 soles but we did not take it relying on the "moderate" and that we are walkers and indeed arrive late. But at no time was there any attempt by the guide to verify our health condition on the trail. They left us a message with a lady who contacted us by phone with the guide and I told her we would take a taxi to reach them. The taxi cost 50 soles from Canabaconde to the hot springs in Yanque, 30 soles less than a mule. Subsequent contacts with the guide were through the agency because he would not answer my calls. When we arrived at the meeting place the guide was supposed to receive us, but he didn’t and we had to wait outside the spa, and even though my wife was sick, there wasn’t a hint of empathy from Will, the guide who didn’t even ask how my wife was doing when they left the spa on the bus with the rest of the group. Most of the tour was like a ballroom. They told us... if they want to take a nap they can do it and at once they played music without even asking permission and at high volume. Soon we asked him to lower the volume a bit and they did it for a while and then raise it again. At photo stops they asked if we wanted to stop for photos (illogical). It seemed like a race to finish the tour. I was a tour guide for 30 years and saw everything that should not be done, reflected in the lack of professionalism on the part of the "guides" Will and Rafael, who knowing that there were people who spoke Spanish only spoke in English. We cannot recommend positively.
