Argolis

Corinth - The Corinth Canal links the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It traverses the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, effectively separating the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, and arguably turning the peninsula into an island.

Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Corinth was a city-state located on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow land bridge connecting the Peloponnese to mainland Greece, situated roughly midway between Athens and Sparta.

Archaeological Site Mycenae - Mycenae is an archaeological site near Mykines in Argolis, in the northeastern Peloponnese, Greece. In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was a major center of Greek civilization, a military stronghold that dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades, and parts of southwest Anatolia.

Citadel and Treasury of Atreus - The Treasury of Atreus, also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon, is a large beehive tomb on Panagitsa Hill at Mycenae, Greece, built around 1250 BC during the Bronze Age. The stone lintel above the doorway weighs 120 tons, making it the largest in the world. The tomb was used for an unknown period and was mentioned by the Roman geographer Pausanias in the 2nd century AD. It was still visible in 1879 when German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann discovered the shaft graves under the “agora” in the Acropolis at Mycenae.

Acronauplia - Akronafplia is a rocky peninsula on a small hill located in the city of Nafplio. It was once a significant fortress built by the Venetians and occupied by various conquerors over time. From there, we will enjoy a breathtaking view of Nafplio city and the sea.

Nafplio - Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese, Greece, that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held by various royal houses during the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia. Initially held by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade, it later came under the Republic of Venice and finally the Ottoman Empire. Nafplio was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and the Kingdom of Greece from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Today, Nafplio is the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.

Epidavros - Epidaurus was a small city in ancient Greece, located on the Argolis Peninsula at the Saronic Gulf. Two towns bear the name Epidavros: Palaia Epidavros and Nea Epidavros. Since 2010, they have been part of the new municipality of Epidaurus, within the regional unit of Argolis.

The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus - The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is part of the archaeological site of Epidaurus and is situated at the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek god of medicine, Asclepius. It is built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, and belongs to the Epidaurus Municipality. It is considered the most important ancient Greek theatre in terms of acoustics and aesthetics.

Monemvasia

Monemvasia - After a 3-hour drive from Nafplio, we will reach Monemvasia Village. Monemvasia is a town and municipality in Laconia, Greece. The town is connected to a small island off the east coast of the Peloponnese by a short causeway 200 meters in length. The island consists mostly of a large plateau about 100 meters above sea level, up to 300 meters wide, and 1 kilometer long, which is the site of a powerful medieval fortress.

Monemvasia Fortress - The heart of Monemvasia lies within the medieval fortress. As you enter the old gate of this ancient city, you will be transported back to medieval times, as the fortress is in excellent condition. Numerous cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops are located inside. We will spend the entire day within the fortress, as there are many attractions for travelers to admire.

Giannis Ritsos House - Yannis Ritsos was a renowned Greek poet. His prolific output, heroic and eventful life, and embodiment of national courage make his voice significant. You will visit his house inside the castle and learn more about his poetry.

Agia Sofia Church - The Church of Agia Sofia is one of the oldest and most important Byzantine churches in Greece. It stands at the highest point of Monemvasia and offers a stunning view of the Aegean Sea. The church was originally established in the 12th century by Byzantine Emperor Andronicus II. During Venetian times, it served as a Catholic church. The view is worth the 20-minute walk to the top.

Mystras Castle

Archaeological Site of Mystra - After a 2-hour drive, we will reach Mystras. In the Chronicle of the Morea, it is described as a fortified town and former municipality in Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece. Situated on Mt. Taygetos near ancient Sparta, it served as the capital of the Byzantine Despotate of the Morea in the 14th and 15th centuries, experiencing a period of prosperity and cultural flourishing. The site remained inhabited throughout the Ottoman period, when it was mistaken by Western travelers for ancient Sparta. In the 1830s, it was abandoned, and the new town of Sparti was built approximately eight kilometers to the east. Travelers will visit the old castle and closely observe this Byzantine-era fortification.

Tolon - After a 2-hour drive from Mystras, we will reach Tolo. Tolo is a seaside village where travelers can enjoy local dishes and fresh seafood at a local restaurant. The view of the vast sea is truly amazing.
