Highlights
  • Musis & Stads Theater - Since 1847, the concert halls of Musis Sacrum and its surroundings have undergone various transformations and relocations within the park to meet the short-term needs of operators, city officials, and residents. The project involves renovating the existing monument and adding a new extension with long-term planning in mind. The extension includes a large concert hall and supportive functions.
  • Waalse kerk - St Agnes Convent was a religious house of the Sisters of the Common Life in Arnhem, in the Duchy of Guelders, during the 15th and 16th centuries. In the 15th century, the community adopted the Third Rule of St Francis, later transitioning to the Rule of St Augustine.
  • Het Duivelshuis of Maarten van Rossumhuis uit 1518 - The Duivelshuis (Devil’s House) is one of Arnhem’s most beautiful and significant monuments. Its origins date back to the 15th century when a city farm stood on this site.
  • Sabelspoort - The Sabelspoort (also known as Eusebiuspoort) is a city gate in Arnhem, first mentioned in 1357. Arnhem once had four city gates, and the Sabelspoort was part of a fortress with a high wall featuring loopholes for shooting. Later, the gate was used to imprison prisoners and the insane, earning it the nickname ‘Geckenpoort’ (Fools’ Gate).
  • Audrey Hepburnplein - The Audrey Hepburnplein, formerly known as Kerkplein, is a square in central Arnhem named after one of the most famous film actresses of the twentieth century. The square hosts the monument ‘Mens tegen macht’ (Man Against Power), where the annual remembrance of the dead takes place. It is one of the oldest parts of the city.
  • Eusebiuskerk - St. Eusebius Church, also known as the Eusebiuskerk or the Grote Kerk, is the largest church and building in Arnhem, Netherlands, standing at 93 meters. The church features an elevator added in 1994, allowing visitors to reach the top of the spire and view the city from its highest point. Visitors can also explore the crypt at the rear of the church, which contains several full skeletons lying in state in the darkness.
  • Koepelkerk - In 1817, the dilapidated St. Jan church was demolished at this location. The Dutch Reformed Congregation was permitted to build a new church to relieve the Sint-Eusebiuskerk. Initially, the Koepelkerk was called the ‘Nieuwe Kerk’ (New Church).
  • Voormalig postkantoor Arnhem - The building at Jansplein 56 in Arnhem is one of the five most important post offices designed by Chief Government Architect C.H. Peters. Following the advice of Bessels architects & engineers, it has been restored to its former glory and transformed into a bookstore with a hospitality function. This extensive project took about four years to complete.

Super nice discovery of Arnhem - The digital outside escape room in Arnhem was great fun. Some parts were quite tough, but that mainly caused hilarity for me and my girlfriend and only made the trip more fun. Arnhem is also a beautiful city, so you can easily combine the walk with something to eat somewhere.
