  • Temple of Karnak - During the New Kingdom, the Karnak Temple Complex was the center of the ancient faith while power was concentrated at Thebes (modern-day Luxor) and its significance is reflected in its enormous size.

In addition to its religious significance, it was also served as a treasury, administrative center, and palace for the New Kingdom pharaohs. It is to this day considered as the largest temple complex ever constructed anywhere in the world.

It developed over a period of 1500 years, added to by generation after generation of pharaohs and resulting in a collection of temples, sanctuaries, pylons, and other decorations that is unparalleled throughout Egypt.

While the height of its importance was during the New Kingdom and during the reigns of famous pharaohs such as Hatshepsut Tuthmose III Seti I and Ramesses II all contributed significant additions to the complex, construction continued into the Greco-Roman Period with the Ptolemies Romans and early Christians

  • Luxor Temple - Luxor

Luxor Temple, Ipet-resyt “Southern Sanctuary” to the ancient Egyptians, was so called because of its location within ancient Thebes (modern Luxor). It is located around three kilometers to the south of Karnak Temple, to which it was once linked with a processional way bordered with sphinxes. The oldest evidence for this temple dates to the Eighteenth Dynasty (c.1550–1295 BC)

  • Valley of the Kings - Valley of the Kings, Arabic Wādī Al-Mulūk, also called Valley of the Tombs of the Kings or Arabic Wādī Bībān al-Mulūk, long narrow defile just west of the Nile River in Upper Egypt. It was part of the ancient city of Thebes and was the burial site of almost all the kings (pharaohs) of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties (1539–1075 BCE), from Thutmose I to Ramses X. Located in the hills behind Dayr al-Baḥrī, the 62 known tombs exhibit variety both in plan and in decoration. In 1979 UNESCO designated the valley part of the World Heritage site of ancient Thebes, which also includes Luxor, the Valley of the Queens, and Karnak.
  • Temple of Hatshepsut - Hatshepsut declared herself pharaoh, adopting the emblems and titles associated with the title. She had herself portrayed in pictures as a man, with a male body and false beard. She even claimed the god Amun as her father and insisted that he meant for her to take charge of Egypt: “I acted under his command; it was he who led me.”

New review on an unforgettable cruise - I come back to a comment from the end of February, laudatory but with a few small remarks, to which the Nile Aviation agency in Paris responded to me, confirming that it had transmitted my remarks to the managers on site. We had just indicated an electricity management problem on board. Electricity is provided by a group, and during stopover absences or at night by batteries, which limits the use of reversible air conditioners, the recharging of devices such as telephones, and Internet access. Small problems with the group of our boat, and management of operating hours, which was resolved before the end of the cruise with the good will of the crew. Another subject was otherwise the access to free drinks during meals, but the lack of information on what was offered. Some being more curious than others, the last 2 days saw this subject resolved. Otherwise nothing but happiness, a crew that takes great care and is always smiling, simple but quality cuisine with fresh products, guide organizing the visits according to the information he had on the crowds due to the large cruise units. This is one of the advantages of the Dahabyia with their maximum 20 passengers and their shallow draft allowing passage and docking in quieter places, not accessible to large units. My best compliment. If I had to do it again, and even with these few small inconveniences...............I would re-sign with both hands!

Minya Dahabiya Cruise Luxor- Aswan 4 days - It was a wonderful trip. All was very good organized. The boat is excellent. It is very good designed and decorated. The rooms are very good and spacious for boat cabins. It felt like a private boat. There are only 6 rooms. The food was very tasty and with big choice. Lots of vegetarian dishes. The attitude of the crew was exceptional. The guide Salakh was the best we ever had. All was very good organized. We enjoyed every minute of our trip. Thanks a lot.
