Additional Information

On this tour, we visit the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. We start our visit with the Acropolis, one of the most iconic ancient monuments of the whole world. Its history goes back to the prehistoric period. In the classical period, it was the central city religious center and symbol of Athenian democracy.

Later on, it served as the political and military center of the city’s multiple conquerors. Nowadays, the Acropolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular destinations for visitors from all over the world. Then we walk down to the Acropolis Museum, one of the major museums of the world because of its modern design and its exhibits. At a distance of 300 m from the Acropolis and offering a 360-degree view of Athens, the modern glass edifice displays the sculptures, which once adorned the Parthenon and the other Acropolis monuments.

Moreover, it includes all those findings from the ancient dwellings, workshops, and sanctuaries unearthed on the hill slopes.
