- Acropolis - At Acropolis you will see the Parthenon, the temple on the top of the sacred rock devoted to Goddess Athena, the Goddess of wisdom, the Propylaea, the entrance to the sacred rock, the Temple of Wingless Victory which was devoted to Goddess Athena-Nike, the Erechtheum, the most sacred and mythical of all the temples of Athens with its famous Caryatides (female featured statues), the 5000-seat Odeon of Herodes Atticus which was carved into the rock and is still used for music festivals, the 3000-seat theater of Dionysus where the Athenians listened to the immortal works of Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides and Aristophanes.

If you wish to have a licensed tour guide to accompany you into the sites, we will help you arrange a licensed tour guide to be with you at an extra cost..

The only way to do Athens - a private tour - This is the only way to do Athens. Our guide, Jimmy, was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to navigate our day for us to see all the highlights. He took us to a great place that we could shop a bit and eat lunch to re-fuel for the rest of our tour. He was flexible when we needed to change the time and even drove us to our ship port to get onto our cruise at the end of the day.

Wished we had booked a full day - My husband and I took a 1/2 day tour of Athens with Jimmy. He was excellent! He took us to the Acropolis and I went down the backside of the hill. He was so patient and took the time to explain to me where I was and that he and my husband were on their way! He was informative and took us where we wanted to go and then showed us sights that were not on my list, and I was very glad to see them. His car was very nice and the water was helpful. We had gotten off to a rough start getting to Athens with airline delays and bag losses but time with him made it all okay again. Thanks, Jimmy.

Tour of Athens - Frank was a great guide. He drove us all around Athens and taught us a lot about the history of each site along the way. He was lovely. We highly recommend!

Great experience with Maina and John on a private tour! - John and Maina showed us an excellent time around Athens visiting the popular spots. Maina spent time as our English guide. We felt it was well worth the extra money to pay for her knowledge of the city in English translation! John did an excellent job driving us around in a nice Mercedes Van with plenty of bottle waters. Maina recommended a great restaurant to eat lunch at the end of the tour. We highly recommend Athens Highlights Private Half-Day Tour!

Great way to see the sites in Athens! - Panos was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and personable. He explained the history of the different locations and answered our questions fully. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Panos for a great experience!

1/2 day Athens Tour with the old ladies! - We had the perfect 1/2 day. We were 5 ladies, 3 in their 80's, 2 in our 60's. Panos was accommodating, kind, and very knowledgeable. The van was comfortable, and he helped assist the ladies with walking issues. I definitely recommend this company and guide.
