Hilltop monasteries worth the pain of 9 hours in a bus. - The hilltop monasteries were worth the 9 hours on the bus to get to/from Meteora. Amazing feat to build & amazing dedication for the monks & nuns to give up their lives & worship here. Guide was great, with plenty of history & Greek humor. Logistics were well managed with stops. Lunch was good. Would be better to travel by train when they fix the line.

A must do excursion! - Photos do not even touch the surface, of what Meteora is! It is a must do. Our tour guide Apostolis was excellent. Though we have read and understood the significance of this blessed area, we learned so much more, on this guided tour. They were 100% on time and delivered more than what we expected. Book it! You will not regret it!

A long way from Athens but fantastic. - It’s a long trip from Athens (4-5 hours) and was reluctant to go because of this. However, it was a wonderful place and well worth the travelling time. Our guide Maria was superb with a great foundation of local and historical knowledge. Added to this she has a witty and funny delivery style and displays the best of Greece. Make the effort and go (but make sure the buses are new and have great AC!)

Meteora - I really enjoyed the experience. The bus was comfortable and had plenty of stops for food and bathroom. Maria, our guide, was very informative and added some humor along the way. Meteora is spectacular with the huge tall rocks and caves in them. The history behind it is captivating. Highly recommend this tour with Maria if possible.

Do not eat in the middle stop. - The tour guide was very knowledgeable and lively. The bus driver was our photographer. They two made our trip very enjoyable. The only unpleasant part was on our way back, when we stopped for a break. The restaurant was a rip-off. They just added sides you even though you didn't order them. The food was bad and cold; it looked like the food was there for the whole day; after I ate it, my stomach didn't feel well the rest of the day of the trip. My husband also had the similar problem.

On top of the world! - The monasteries and hermit caves are incredible and something you should definitely see. Long day, but well worth it! Be warned that there are no bathrooms to be found around where the buses pick up and drop off and first break is 2+ hours into the ride to Meteora. Lunch right after you arrive and then incredible sights.

Meteora amazing to see. - The meteora were amazing to see. Such a beautiful site - highly recommend to all. Lunch was also delicious - highly recommend to have included. Tour guide was excellent - thank you for our amazing experience. A couple negatives to be aware of, firstly, buses at the pickup point were very disorganized with people’s names missing off the tour list, lack of communication regarding 3 bus changes throughout the day, not enough seats in Meteora minibus and had to sit on fold out seat which was the tour leaders seat (who ended up standing), and lastly main bus bringing us to and from Athens was hot and air conditioning kept getting turned down by bus driver.
