  • Delphi - Delphi was considered the center of the world in ancient times. Known in legend as Pytho, it was a sacred precinct that housed Pythia, the major oracle consulted for crucial decisions in the classical world. The Temple of Apollo, known as the Oracle of Delphi, is part of the Panhellenic Sanctuary and is centrally located relative to Greek settlements. The Omphalos of Delphi is an ancient marble monument discovered at the Delphi archaeological site. The Temple of Athena Pronaia was part of the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, a complex of buildings including temples and treasuries, as well as the famous Tholos of Delphi. The Castalian Spring, located near the Oracle of Delphi, was believed in ancient times to have purifying waters that could cleanse the souls of visitors to the Temple of Apollo, situated just 500 meters away.

It was the place, that the prophecies were given to every man, every prince, general and king. It was the center of the universe, according to Zeus, king of the Gods. You will visit the Oracle of Apollo, the Omphalos, the temple of Athena Pronaia, Kastaleia Spring and see some magnificent artifacts and statues, such as Eniochos the charioteer, the twin Brothers and Sphynx of Naxos.

Memorable day trip: history, great conversation, beautiful food and wine! - Went with Mr. Lazarus in spring ‘22. Wonderful trip and would go again in a heartbeat. Excellent driver, charming and knowledgeable. Paced our trip perfectly for us. Great recommendation for lunch which we still recall fondly.
