Highlights
  • Acropolis - Explore the Acropolis and delve into the origins of Western Civilization. Here, you can witness the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Athena Nike, the grand entrance Propylaea, the Erechtheum, and of course, the Parthenon.

  • Propylaea - The quintessential Greek example is the Propylaea, serving as the gateway to the Acropolis of Athens.

  • Parthenon - The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena in the fifth century BC.

  • Erechtheion - The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek Ionic temple-telesterion on the north side of the Acropolis, Athens, mainly dedicated to the goddess Athena.

  • Temple of Athena Nike - The Temple of Athena Nike is situated on the Acropolis of Athens and is dedicated to the goddesses Athena and Nike.

  • Theater of Dionysus - The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens, located on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus.

  • Herod Atticus Odeon - The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone Roman theatre on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece.

  • Arch of Hadrian - A classic Triumphal Arch built by the Ancient Athenians for the Roman Emperor Hadrian, seen alongside the Temple of Zeus in the same area.

  • Temple of Olympian Zeus - A colossal temple in central Athens dedicated to the god Zeus, once home to one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World.

  • Hellenic Parliament - We will proceed to Syntagma’s main square to observe the changing of the Presidential guard in front of the Greek Parliament. You will see the Evzones in their traditional attire, and your private tour guide will explain the significance of each part of their costumes.

  • Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - Witness the changing of the Presidential guard in front of the Greek Parliament.

  • National Library of Greece - The National Library of Greece is located near the center of Athens. Designed by Danish architect Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, it is part of his renowned Trilogy of neo-classical buildings, including the Academy of Athens and the original Athens University building. It was founded by Ioannis Kapodistrias.

  • The Academy of Athens - The Academy of Athens is Greece’s national academy and the highest research institution in the country. Established in 1926, it operates under the Ministry of Education’s supervision. The Academy’s main building is a major landmark in Athens.

  • National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - Founded on May 3, 1837, by King Otto of Greece, the University of Athens was initially named Othonian University. It was the first university in the liberated Greek state and the surrounding Southeast Europe region.

  • Mount Lycabettus - Mount Lycabettus, also known as Lycabettos, is a Cretaceous limestone hill in Athens. At 277 meters (908 feet) above sea level, its summit is the highest point in Central Athens, with pine trees covering its base. The name also refers to the residential neighborhood below the hill’s east side.

The hill is a popular tourist spot and can be ascended via the Lycabettus Funicular, a railway that climbs the hill from a lower terminus at Kolonaki (the station is on Aristippou street). At its two peaks are the 19th-century Chapel of St. George, a theatre, and a restaurant. From Lycabettus hill, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city.

  • Panathenaic Stadium - Our tour continues at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the modern Olympic Games began in 1896. Also known as the “Kallimarmaro” stadium, it is one of Athens’ highlights, where the classic Marathon ends and the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble.
  • Acropolis Museum - The Acropolis Museum was established to display all significant finds from the Sacred Rock and its foothills. Upon entering the museum, look through the plexiglass floor to see the ruins of an ancient Athenian neighborhood, which has been artfully incorporated into the museum’s design.

A lovely experience to remember forever - This experience was so incredible. Here on our honeymoon and so impressed with the service. Giorgos is an amazing and thoughtful guide around the city. We felt so special and would recommend every time! He suggested many wonderful places to visit and eat, and took us to a beautiful restaurant, Prasini Tenta. He even got us flowers and special sweets. We felt very safe and fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, considerate guide as he drove us around the city. We really could relax and enjoy ourselves. Anda showed us the Acropolis of Athens and her passion and love for the sites is infectious! It was like having a conversation with your best friend! Her energy is so lovely. We can’t recommend enough and are beyond happy! We will remember this day and these experiences with these amazing people in this awesome city forever!

Highlight of our trip to Athens - My friends, my husband, and I had the pleasure of a private, skip the line, tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum on September 20, 2023. Six people. It was booked through Crispy Local. They provided transportation to and from our hotel. Our driver, George, was friendly, prompt, and very interesting. Our tour guide was Anda. She was amazing at negotiating the crowd to give us the best views of the Acropolis and surroundings. Her knowledge of Athens history and the construction of the Acropolis is encyclopedic! She shared large colorful pictures of how the Acropolis looked when it was completed which helped us understand it’s true magnificence. Not only that, both George and Anda were kind and funny—the kind of people you’d like to hang out and be friends with. I highly recommend this tour! It was the highlight of our stay in Athens.

Absolutely perfect private tour of Athens including major historic sights - On our first day ever in Athens, we took this full day, private tour that included an in depth tour of the acropolis and the museum accompanied by a knowledgeable guide that we had a choice to add— we would never have learned as much or gone smoothly through the crowd without Ourania ! George picked us up right on time at our hotel, and showed us many of the sites of Athens on the way to meet our guide to the acropolis and museum. We then met up with George again, and he continued our driving tour through the city of Athens with several stops, he was knowledgeable of the history as well as the current events of this wonderful city! If this is your first time for Athens, you should take this tour first, and it is worth every euro of it’s reasonable price! I came away from the tour, feeling, excited, knowledgeable and oriented to Athens, knowing just what I wanted to do and plan for the next day or two, we had in Athens! Would’ve been a wonderful way to see Athens, even if I only had had one day! Highly recommend this fantastic, marvelous tour

Fantastic Experience - We request this trip at a really short notice and Mr. John graciously accommodated it in his schedule. We were welcomed by Mr. George who was very warm and friendly. Ms. Alexandra was our tour guide and was very knowledge. She patiently showed us around the Acropolis area and each and every architecture in it. She also gave us a brief city tour and showed us all the heritage points in the city. At this time of the year when crowd is less, a private tour provides a really personalized experience and I really recommend it.

Great Experience - We are a family with 2 kids and we wanted to take this tour stress free as we didn't want to have our own car and we needed to have a very good tour guide, especially with kids! Our tour guide Anda and Mr George, our driver, truly went above and beyond! Anda is great with kids and we really enjoyed the day! We totally recommend them and Crispy Local for organising all.

Great to learn about Athens and see some of what Athens has to offer. - Anada and our driver were very professional and nice. Anada was extremely knowledgeable, formally educated on history of Athens and also a native. The company accommodated our need for a later pickup after our flight was delayed so we didn’t get an opportunity to do some of the things we planned because it became night however my husband and I still enjoyed our experience.

Fantastic experience - Anda is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. We were very lucky to have her as our guide. The Acropolis was packed with tourists but she knew how to navigate to the right spots. Her English is excellent and her historical narrations were detailed and engaging. George was our driver and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He more like tour guide than a simple driver, very knowledgeable. He was very accommodating, he waited for us to take us back to our cruise even though we were a little outside our contracted hours. And even surprised us with a little bottle of the local licor after having a discussion about it in the morning!
