Cape Sounion has long played an important part in Greek mythology and history, and the first recorded mention of it occurs in the Odyssey, as the last safe landing before Poseidon scattered the returning Greek navy. As god of the sea, Poseidon was very important for ancient Greeks, and the scale of the Temple at Cape Sounion reflects that. Amazing sunset views - This is really good tour with amazing views of the sunset from the temple of Poseidon. Be prepared for there to be large crowds at the site during this time.

Stunning sunset setting - Was picked up as advised by coach and transported to Cape Sounion. Our tour guide gave us detailed history on the way there and we were given free time to enjoy the temple and sunset before returning. The temple is set amongst a stunning sunset with beautiful views, it was truly amazing.

A magical sunset - Just to be clear, this is not a guided tour in any way. It was an accompanied bus ride to a magical spot. My friend and I were very happy we went to experience the beautiful views, see the Temple of Poseidon and watch the breathtaking sunset 🌅

Amazing sunset - It was a wonderful way to end our trip. The sunset against the temple and the Agean Sea was spectacular. Although the drive out was a little long it was well worth it in the end.

Makes it possible to see the temple - Keep in mind, this is just a way to get to the location and not have to wait in a long line. It’s not a tour. It’s just a mode of transportation to get to a location that’s difficult to get to.
The time there was great and it’s a beautiful place!

Good enough! - The sunset was magnificent, great photo opportunities if you're into it. The temple is fine. Tour guide could have been a bit more enthusiastic. The drive could be spruce up with some anecdotal tidbits about the various areas the bus is driving through. To sum it up, a bit boring and uneventful.

It's a bus trip only. Not a tour. - We read the reviews so we kept our expectations low. It's travel to the temple of Poseidon. that's it. The 'archaeologist Nicki' didn't provide us with much information or accompany us to the temple. we were asked to be back at the bus at 8.45 and sunset was 8.47. so you actually miss the sunset as you have to walk back to the carpark. The aircon on the bus wasn't great and the seats had no leg room. Overall average experience.

Skip it - There wasn’t much to this excursion other than a bus ride. The meeting point was way out of town, and required an expensive cab ride. Our guide did relate some history while we were on the bus, but it was literally just a ride to the ruins. Not even a bottle of water was provided.
