- Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies, and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
- Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!

We went on an adventure - Grant did an awesome job making sure we got exactly to and from the tour on time and gave us wonderful conversation along the way. He even took us to ice cream afterwards

Magical day - Despite some rain at the start of the tour, hobbiton is one magical place that brought sunshines & smiles throughout our day. And as Grant (our tour driver/coordinator) said, a successful journey is when it ends where everyone is home safe...Thanking Grant for making sure we had the best day & safe journey at the same time, capped with his recommendation of the hokey pokey ice cream!

The best way to travel and see Hobbiton - Well worth the money to book transportation from downtown Auckland to Hobbiton. It was a bit of a drive and I’m glad I was able to enjoy some of the amazing sites on the road. Obviously the visit to Hobbiton was the star on this trip but I also throughly enjoyed our return trip through the rolling farm lands. Our guide, Grant, did a great job keeping us entertained the whole time.
The only thing I would do differently is to book a regular tour bus instead of a small group tour. While I appreciated the intimacy of a smaller group, I’m a bit on the taller side (1.85m) and the van isn’t met for larger travelers.
All in all, it was a great tour and Hobbiton is a must do while visiting northern New Zealand.

Amazing time in Hobbiton - Don, our driver/tour guide to/from Hobbiton of Cheeky Travel is such a spoiler. He told us the history of the area, treated the newly engaged and anniversary couple (+1 for winning in his contest - guessing his age) with a cone of ice cream each, chips and water and even sang 5 Maori song! Within 30 minutes of setting the stage for the tour, we became a family travelling together to Hobbiton. It is really a very nice experience for me. Thank you Don!

Our guide was excellent, even went out of his way to make us feel comfortable - Getting to Hobbiton, it was even more spectacular than I had thought. Our guide was so awesome, very kind, asked all of our questions. Went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Do not miss this experience - It was all well organized. Best part was the onsite Hobbiton tour. Our driver Grant was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly with good commentary on the NZ country side and animal evolution.
