  • This experience requires a minimum number of travellers. If it’s cancelled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
  • Children below 8 years old are required to travel in a child safety car seat.
  • Children between 5-7 years old are also recommended to be in a booster seat for their safety.
  • Tours are suitable for people of all ages and average fitness. Our scenic walks are short and optional. Please let our guide know at check in if you have any fitness concerns. There is no wheelchair access
  • Caves average at a temperature of 16-17 degrees Celsius year-round.
  • After heavy frosts, areas that don’t see the sun can stay icy so please take care.
  • After heavy rain, the boardwalks and tracks may become slippery so please take care.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the conditions, sun protection, jacket/warm layer, & any essential personal items.
  • This is a guided walking tour and sensible walking footwear is recommended.
  • Bring a camera or a phone with camera capability as this is the perfect place to get some great experiences photos.
  • Please dress with an additional layer of clothing (in winter) & closed toe footwear.
  • Always stay on the boardwalks or marked paths.
  • Do not drop or throw items anywhere in the park; apart from making an unsightly mess, you may get boiling water splashed back at you.
  • During the summer season, it is essential to have water or liquid refreshment.
  • No photography is permitted inside the Waitomo caves, and cameras and Go Pros cannot be taken on the tour.
  • No backpacks or large bags allowed in cave due to delicate formations.
  • Please do not touch the formation in the cave as it discoloured easily, please help us protect our cave.
  • Easy and good fitness level required. and you must be able to climb and descend stairs and walk on unpaved or uneven terrain.
  • The caves are accessible to those with reasonable mobility, as there are good handrails and paths.

Great for all ages - Our tour guide Marcus was very funny with good music as well the going on the lakes in the truck was great and good history lessons recommended for everyone and for all ages
