Are you on a quest for an economical and entertaining trip to the iconic Salt Lick BBQ and a pair of picturesque Texas Hill Country wineries? Your search ends here! Our Hill Country BBQ and Wine Shuttle is perfect for individual travelers, couples, and small groups. The shuttle sets off from the Austin Visitor Center at 10:30AM towards Driftwood region of the Texas Hill Country, which is roughly 35-45 minutes to the southwest of Austin. Travel in comfort aboard a Mercedes Sprinter van accompanied by a friendly local guide. Spend around 45-50 minutes at each location. Please note that the cost of food/drinks is not included in the shuttle price; guests are required to pay on their own at the restaurant and wineries.
- Tour departs from the AUSTIN VISITOR CENTER located at 602 E. 4th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
- Minimum drinking age is 21 years old.
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for check in. We are unable to delay the tour for guests who arrive late.
- Parking is available in the Austin Convention Center Garage which is connected to the Austin Visitor Center. Enter the garage on E 5th St between Red River and Sabine.
- The tour runs rain or shine, however we reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of extreme weather and/or hazardous road conditions that would potentially affect the safety of our guides and guests.
- Guests with limited mobility are welcome to bring a wheelchair or portable scooter on board to be folded and placed in the rear of the van. The vans are not equipped with a ramp or wheelchair lift however, so all guests must be able to step up into the vehicle (about 12 inches).
- If you have cold or flu-like symptoms or if you are feeling ill in any way, please do not join the tour.

Best Hill Country Tour - Trace, our tour guide was absolutely amazing. He had our small group start “off as strangers and ending up as friends “. The barbecue at Salt Lick was amazing! Trace provided a history of the restaurant as well as the wineries. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

BBQ and Wine Tasting - Our Driver was Cliff and he was excellent!!! Great personality and made it fun. Second winery which was Drifwood was beautiful and reminded us of Italy

Worthwhile visit outside of Austin - This was a fun trip shared with my 3 girlfriends. Our guide, Trace, was full of information about the Hill Country as well as the 2 wineries and the Salt Lick Bbq. This is a good choice for some time away outside of the Austin city.

Enjoyable Tour - The tour included a very tasty Texas BBQ at the Salt Lick, followed by tastings at 2 very different wineries. As a Californian, I preferred the Duchman winery, and was pleasantly surprised to find their wines to be quite drinkable. Our guide, Trace, was friendly and very informative about the stops we made and the Austin Hill Country. All in all an enjoyable tour.

Austin Hill Country BBQ & Wine Shuttle - Awesome Experience! - The Tour was excellent. Salt Lick had the best BBQ and the two wineries visited were very nice. Everyone was super nice, friendly and knowledgeable. The best part was our tour guide, Joey. He was AWESOME! His local flair and fun personality made the event a great time.
