Highlights
  • Texas State Capitol - We’ll start our tour outside the beautiful Texas State Capitol. We’ll discuss the ground’s urban legends (hello, buried gold?) and discuss the ghosts that still haunt the shadows of the building’s historic halls.
  • Texas Governor’s Mansion - From the ghosts of Governor’s past, to phantom horses, to ghoulish Easter parties, we’ll stop in front of the Governor’s mansion where you can snap a quick pic and learn of the many mysterious happenings in the building that occur to this day.
  • Paramount Theatre - A lady in white, missing candy bars and haunted projectors, a boy who loves magicians… all fitting ghosties for a storied theatre.
  • Angelina Eberly Statue - Here we’ll cover a brief history of what was once meant to be the tallest building in Austin ( truly laughable now), in addition to discussing a number of Texas urban legends like the Donkey Lady. We’ll also discuss some of the cults who called Austin home in times gone by… (and maybe even to this day?)
  • The Driskill - The Driskill Hotel isn’t just a beautiful building in the heart of downtown, it is also one of the most haunted hotels in the state. We’ll cover the most spirits here; from jilted brides, to little girls, portraits that seem to watch your every move, elevators with grumpy ghostly men, and more, we save the best for last and pack our final Ha Ha Haunted punch with our tour’s finale.

Additional Information

Austin is full of scary stories (and we’re not just talking about the rent prices or traffic.) Join us on this delightfully ghoulish, 18+ adults-only, guided walking ghost tour that highlights some of Austin’s most haunted locations!

We’ll also tell tales of other things that go bump in the night from Austin’s first serial killer to urban legends and even some cult activity.

The Ha Ha Haunted tour is a “boo-tique” experience where we take our storytelling seriously, but not ourselves! We strive to provide engaging ghost tours that honor the spirits we’re discussing without bogging them down with long historical asides you’ll surely forget about.

Please note: This tour is not a deep dive into Austin’s city history and is NOT a paranormal investigation, (the only building we’ll go inside is the Driskill Hotel when available.)

If you see a ghost in a window or have an unexplained experience, that’s a cherry on top! We’re simply purveyors of spooky tales.

Location
100 1/2 W 11th St
West 11th Street
We will meet guests directly in front of the Texas State Capitol Gates. Please do not go inside the gates or up to the building itself, as that is NOT where your guide will be waiting for you with Ha Ha Haunting merch on! Please note: There's no restroom readily available from the start location.

Excellent Customer Service - I originally scheduled a tour for Sunday, but the guide didn’t show. I sent a message to Ha Ha Haunted Austin and they responded right away. They refunded my money and rescheduled a tour two days later. Unforeseen circumstances came up for the tour guide on my first booking, so I was very impressed with their customer service. On the night of the rescheduled tour, Celia was my guide and she came out to host only myself for a tour. She was knowledgeable, personable, witty, and overall a wonderful guide. It was like walking the city with a friend as they told ghost stories. I loved learning about some ghostly aspects and my favorite part was the Driskill Hotel. Although, it was cool to see that occupants were actually inside the Governor’s Mansion as well…the dogs informed everyone of our presence on the sidewalk outside. Thank you so much!

I never write reviews, but I was compelled to write this review - Truly a fun time! The ghost stories were interesting with the perfect amount of jokes and comedy sprinkled throughout. BUT it wasn’t only ghost stories. Serial killers, cults, urban legends, oh my! The tour guide, Celia, is so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend :)

Cool stories at cool locations! - This was my first time in Austin and while my girlfriend really liked the ghost stories, I really appreciated the history behind the capital, governors mansion, paramount theater, and the Driskill hotel! Our tour guide Celia was very knowledgeable and easy to get along with, so I would definitely recommend this tour!

I love that she talked about ghost stories and history but also cults, urban legends, and fun facts about buildings. Highly recommend, seriously so fun!!

Local Josh Gates! 10/10 - This tour was so fun and informative! She had dad jokes and puns going the whole time, as if Josh Gates himself were giving the tour. The walk was perfect, nothing too crazy, but just long enough to be able to see the city from a different view. 10/10 would do this again!

Conference visit Ghost Tour - What a BLAST! I was in ATX for a conference and a few of us decided to go out and try this tour. Celia, our ghostly host, met us with a big smile and a ton of energy. She gave us the rundown on what to expect.I’ve done ghost tours in NOLA and Boston. This tour was a little more quirky and tongue in cheek… kind of has a Jungle Cruise vibe that I thought was fun. After the tour we asked her for a good place to get a drink. She sent us to Firehouse Hostel where we got drinks in a hidden speakeasy.

Hahah horrrible - It was a horrible description that was given when I read about the tour. Over exaggerated and under review. It was just a college girl fool of urban legends and tall tales
