Excellent day trip with extraordinary guide - This trip packs a punch: from Avignon we went to Nimes and its well preserved arena, then to Uzes and Pont du Gard before circling back to the other side of Avignon for a trip to an olive oil press, winery, and brief stops in Les Beaux and St. Remy’s “Les Antiques.” Frederic was an excellent guide to the region and really picked up on our interests in the area’s agronomy and history. He was well equipped to offer rich detail in his delivery of interesting information, and the conversation flowed very nicely for the whole 10-hour trip. He answered deep questions with aplomb and showed a great deal of his own wide-ranging interests in his responses. Furthermore, he really worked to get us to as many sites as possible. While the Uzes town visit in particular was a bit short, we so enjoyed getting to see the range of towns Provence and Occitane had to offer. This trip was great as well because we mixed in some lower key stops at an impressive olive oil press for a tour with the owner and at an excellent winery. All in all, this was a day full of stunning Roman and Medieval sites, along with some of the modern French culture that makes its culinary scene so well known. We had a great time and highly recommend the tour and our guide!

Violet, our tour guide made the trip... -
Violet, our tour guide made the trip fun. The selection of cities and locations was great for experiencing the south of France. Having the guide drop us off right in front of the old villages, while others had to park and walk from long distances was a great part of taking this tour.

We thought the tour was quite good... -
We thought the tour was quite good. The one improvement that could be made, is to have the stops guided by the driver. We had Carole who was incredibly knowledgable. She gave us lots of background information while driving but it would have been better while actually touring the sites.

This was a very good tour of the top... -
This was a very good tour of the top sites in the area, the aqueduct was breathtaking. And the time atLes Bauxite, Nimes, and Uzes was about right. However, two complaints about the tour guide: her focus on two passengers in the front of the van answering there many questions off- line versus the group in the van and her apparent unawareness of the need for nature breaks on a very hot day when water consumption is needed. I found my own stops of necessity.

A nice trip, but I'd suggest to make... -
A nice trip, but I'd suggest to make it different. I think it should start by visiting Nimes and Uzes Nimes is one of the most charming cities I've ever been to, and to finish in the olive and wine tasting. The tasting was good, but at 9 o clock in the morning, it was a little bit weird
