Baku - Gobustan
Baku - Embark on an excursion to Gobustan, a remarkable site featuring numerous Neolithic rock engravings. Here, you can marvel at over 4,000 inscriptions that date back more than 12,000 years, including some Latin graffiti from the 1st century AD. The rock paintings depict men and women engaged in hunting or ritual dances. Proceed to the “Mud Volcanoes” area, one of Azerbaijan’s natural wonders, where over 100 volcanoes of varying heights create a lunar-like landscape.
Baku - Return to Baku. Upon arrival in the old city, visit several historical monuments: caravanserais, the remnants of Saint Bartholomew’s church, the old hammām, the renowned Maiden Tower, ancient mosques, and finally, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs.
Baku - Absheron
Absheron Region - Depart for the Absheron peninsula, arriving at Atashgah, the fire temple in the village of Surakhani, a significant religious site for fire worshipers. Continue with a visit to Yanardagh (burning mountain), one of Azerbaijan’s incredible natural attractions. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant. Return to Baku and stop at the stunning Cultural Center designed by Zaha Hadid (entrance not included) to admire its impressive and futuristic architecture. Nearby, you can visit “Yashil Bazar” (green market).
