Unforgettable Azerbaijan Experience with Outstanding Tour Service - We had an amazing experience with T E S TOURS in Azerbaijan. Everything was smooth and well-organized, making our trip unforgettable. The tours were fantastic, and their personal touch, like arranging a cake for my friend, was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

Azerbaijan tour facilitated by TES Tours now known as Old City Tours. - Hello all! This is a month old review and I couldn't post it due to the paucity of time. But the memories of Azerbaijan are so overwhelming that I couldn't resist but to write this review. I visited there with my family and the 5 night tour was facilitated by TES Tour now known as Old City Tours. In short, we did our night city tour the day of our arrival and the city lights up at night like it never sleeps. The next day, we left for absheron peninsula and we visited gobustan and mud volcanoes and finished-off our day with Azerbaijani cuisine. The next day was our tour to Gabala, Lahij and Shamakhi village. Namig was the tour guide and he is a thorough gentleman. The scenery enroute will take your breath away. Day 4 was Lenkaran and Astara. I did my research and was looking for any tour agency to take us there and here I came across with TES Tour. Farid, our tour guide, who became my closest friend in Azerbaijan and it was a trip worth remembering. I don't have words to narrate the beauty of Lenkaran, a district near Iran border and we got to see a lot of beautiful places there. Farid belongs to lenkaran itself, who also invited us to this Bibi's house (Aunt in Talish language) and she offered us mushmulla (a speciality fruit of Lenkaran) from her garden and said prayers for us when we were leaving. Farid taught me a few words in Russian and in return I taught him some Hindi words. On our way back to hotel, we spent our evening at Khanbulan Lake with people singing old Azeri songs on their traditional musical instruments, we had some Talish tea with walnuts and the day ended with Yanar Bulag, a natural spring water with flames coming out of its top. I must mention about Cevansir, at whose shop, we halted for a while when we entered Lenkaran and he offered us Lenkaran special tea with jaggery. Your day will not end without having tea because in Azerbaijan, you don't count the tea cups you're having (Chay nadir Say Nadir). The second last day was Guba and Khinalug, that borders with Dagestan, Russia and our tour guide was Mr. Aqil, another friend of mine in whom, did I find a similar interest in combat sports and he took us up the mountains and a local village house where we ate local home cooked food and had tea with white cherries. The people in Azerbaijan are welcoming and generous. The final day, we visited the old Baku city and were privileged to visit World heritage sites and we got to thank all the TES Tour group members at their office which is in Old City by the Double Gates. We came back with a heavy heart as we had to leave that beautiful country, but we brought the memories with us. If it makes you write a review even after a month visiting some place, trust me it must be worth it. Azerbaijan is worth it and so is TES Tours.

We had a very good experience with this professional outfit - We had a very good experience with this professional outfit. We pre-arranged a custom 3-day tour with Aysel, who was very responsive/helpful. We toured Shamakhi, Lahic, Gabala, Sheki, Kish, and a few minor sights along the way. Although this is offered as a two-day trip, we would not recommend such a compact itinerary given the driving distances. We arranged (on our own) to stay at resorts in both Gabala & Sheki (very much worth the extra time given the beauty of the mountains and how nice the resorts are in this part of Azerbaijan). Sheki itself deserves a full day as the most beautiful town in Azerbaijan. Our driver/guide was Samir, who speaks good English and is also fluent in Russian. Samir was a pleasure to travel with, a good driver (parts of the roads in this section of Azerbaijain are under major construction pending completion of a spectacular new cross-valley bridge), and an all-around good guy. We would definitely travel with TES again in the future.

Both good and bad - Our driver, Samir, was friendly and spoke quite good English. He was on time for the pickup and helpful with all our luggage. We had missed breakfast at the hotel due to the early pickup so we asked a couple of times to be taken somewhere along the way for a small meal. But we just kept going with the itinerary. We managed to buy a packet of chips at mid-afternoon, but only got a meal at about 5:30 by which stage we were very hungry. Even if we'd had breakfast, that was too late for lunch (for us - we understand that Azerbaijanis eat later.) We would have loved to stop at one of the simple country picnic restaurants for a small meal in the morning or early lunchtime. The restaurant that we ate our very late lunch at was really disappointing and I would recommend that you don't use it again. It was extremely expensive - perhaps twice what we had paid for much better meals in Baku. The waiter was very pushy, didn't give us time to look at the menu properly, and made us buy more food than we wanted, and when it came, the meat was tough. We had excellent meals in Baku so we know how good Azerbaijani food can be, and this was NOT good. The waiter also tried to make us give him a tip over and above the 12% service charge. The private guides at the various sites were great, and the itinerary was interesting and varied. The car was comfortable and spacious, even with our three suitcases, but we found driving on the Azerbaijani roads was frightening!

Discover Baku, Azerbaijan - We requested private tour from TES tours and ask them to give us the best option due to some constraints. They are amazing team that would take care everything and will ensure trip will be great. Shout to Bussal and 2 private drivers that entertained us during our visit. They even checked us on the hotel if were okay. Trip was amazing. 😊😊😊 Time constraints and sudden changes on our schedules was not factor to them to missed out the best tour from BAKU. Thanks again TES Tours. Godbless

SORPRISE FROM AZERBEIJAN - I took a tour that seemed not as popular. The guide was an Azeri woman whose name is very rare so I cannot remember it (Gul....). She is a very talkative, humorous and vivid lady, rare personality. She was the best part of the tour. We laughed the whole day. We visited many spots. My favourite ones were two palaces in Caucasus with interesting carpentry and a medieval church that was properly restored (a very rare thing to see around here). The road is in places bumpy and traffic chaotic, but the driver (Kerem) was nothing less then Mika Hakkinen.

Mixed feelings! - The agent assigned to us will need more coaching on customer service and management. We faced multiple challenges with the recommended hotels. My advice is to do bookings on your own. Hotels ratings don’t reflect reality. As for the multi-day tour, the assigned driver was a very nice person. He did an outstanding job. This compensates. Azerbaijan is a beautiful country and culturally rich. It’s must be and see at least once in a lifetime.
