The renowned bridge over this river was constructed in 1943. This bridge was a part of a war project with the aim to link the Thai and Burmese railway systems to aid the Japanese rule of Burma. Over 100,000 workers and 12,000 war prisoners perished during its assembly. After visiting the bridge, continue to the JEATH War Museum, displaying a collection of images and relics from the era.
