Embark on a picturesque tour of Bangkok’s waterways, or ‘klongs’ as the locals call them, aboard a motorboat on the Chao Phraya River. Witness the tranquil residential and temple structures scattered along these channels, a sight that coined the term ‘Venice of the East’ for Bangkok. These canals are a regular path for the native Thais who use them for their daily activities, like carrying their goods, chiefly rice, to the rice fields from their homes.
The journey will include a visit to the elegantly designed Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun, one of the most emblematic structures in Bangkok and the most well-known among the city’s over 400 Buddhist temples and monasteries. Following that, the itinerary continues to the Grand Palace complex which houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Keow), sculpted from a single block of transparent jade.
