Highlights
  • Bangkok - Following hotel pick up from Bangkok city area hotel at 9 am by English speaking guide start your private Bangkok half day city tour.
  • Wat Phra Chetuphon - Your first stop will be Wat Pho. Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is the most established and biggest Buddhist temple in Bangkok. It is home to more Buddha pictures than some other Bangkok temple and it shields the largest Buddha in Thailand.
  • The Grand Palace - You will continue to visit The Grand Palace. The Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king’s guests, State guests, and other foreign dignitaries. It is also a place where remains of kings and high-ranked members of the royal family were situated before cremation.
  • Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) - Keep on enjoying Wat Phra Kaew. The Wat Phra Kaew, otherwise known as “the temple of the Emerald Buddha” located within the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok is Thailand’s most sacred temple and an important pilgrimage site for Thai Buddhists. The temple enshrines Thailand’s most highly revered Buddha image, the Emerald Buddha. The image is housed in the ubosot (ordination hall), an extremely ornate building constructed during the second half of the eighteenth century subsequent to King Rama I having established Bangkok as the new capital of Siam. The walls of the Rattanakosin style building are decorated with paintings.
  • Amulet Market - Your next stop will be Amulet Market. A market offering amulets and Buddha statues in Wat Ratchanadda offers substantially more than just religious knickknacks and images. Souvenir ideas include khon masks delicately crafted by hand. It is always a hive of activity with collectors coming from all over Thailand and spending thousands of baht for a rare prized original. There are thousands of amulets, Buddha’s, statues, ornaments of Thai monks and so forth starting from a few baht up to unimaginable prices. Each Amulet is unique and brings a specific form of luck.
  • Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun) - Next you will visit Wat Arun. One of Bangkok’s most famous landmarks and known from many postcards, the Wat Arun is best known for its massive prang, a tower on the Chao Phra river bank built in Khmer architectural style. The prang with its height of more than 80 meters is the tallest in Thailand. The Wat Arun, commonly known as “the Temple of Dawn”, is one of only six temples of the highest grade of the five star Royal Temples, and therefore one of Thailand’s most esteemed temples. Finally, it’s time to return. You will be dropped off at your Bangkok City hotel safely at approximately 2 pm.

Best way to see these sights! - Overall, we had a great day! For a group of 9 people, this was the best way to see the sights in the city. The tour guide and our driver were excellent. She was promptly on time for pickup at the hotel, the driver had a luxurious, air-conditioned van, and I do not know that we would have been able to see all the locations if we tried to do this on our own. I would highly recommend the tour!

Highly recommend this tour! - Great tour of the major must-see sights in Bangkok: The Grand Palace, the temple with the Reclining Buddha, and Wat Arun. The guide provided us with the history of each sight as well the cultural context for each. We were delayed due to traffic in arriving for our tour but Benjamat and team adjusted the time so that we could have the tour. I highly recommend this tour and Benjamat as a guide. She was one of the best guides that we have ever had and made our short stay in Bangkok memorable.

Quick tour of Bangkok - We got to see a lot in an afternoon. Sophie had great stories. We did have trouble with the driver as she pulled away when I wasn’t fully in the car yet. I was very lucky not to be injured.
