Additional Information

Embark on a 3-hour culinary journey through the city’s vintage yet lively performing arts neighborhood, visiting three distinct venues. Although Poble Sec is located in the heart of the city, it seems a world away from the tourist masses. The cuisine is remarkable, showcasing a creative take on several traditional dishes.

This is not a big historic walking tour where the single highlight is a snack at the end. As a company specializing in Barcelona, we exclusively collaborate with independent, local establishments known for their superior meals and desserts. We ensure that you won’t feel peckish.

With a decade’s experience in conducting tours, we believe the best tours resemble an informal dinner with a friend’s acquaintance. On this small group tour, dialogue will naturally ensue as your guide navigates you safely through Barcelona, sharing a private, laid-back evening. Engage in conversation about the locality, the cuisine or any other subject that arises - Barcelona’s lifestyle, culture, or history.

IMPORTANT: Go to the "font farola" located in Poble Sec (there are others elsewhere in town)! We meet on the corner of Avinguda del Paral·lel & Ronda de Sant Pau. Here you will find one of the city's old "font farolas" - an old fountain/streetlamp, beside a hotel and ATM. Don't be late! : )

Excellent and delicious wine and tapas tour - We enjoyed our Poble Sec tapas and wine tour so much! All of the food and wine was really delicious and a level above anything we’ve found on our own. I am still thinking about the roast carrot dish that we tried. Even our 15 year old son said everything he ate was delicious and that is high praise! Allison is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the food and wine, Barcelona history and shopping recommendations. It was such a fun and friendly night out! Would love to do another tour or cooking class with her on our next visit to Barcelona!

Excellent Evening with The Barcelona Taste - The Food Tour with The Barcelona Taste and Lorea was excellent in every way. We really enjoyed Lorea's insight and conversation, and the food was interesting, unique, and quite good. I would highly recommend The Barcelona Taste for your small group Barcelona Food Walking Tour.

The Best of Barcelona One Bite at a Time - As a solo traveler, taking this tour was a perfect way to "dine out" with a group, rather than sitting alone in a restaurant trying to decide what to order. I was able to sample the best of Barcelona in tapas-sized portions in three small local bistros which I would never have found on my own. Esther is a passionate local who shares her knowledge of the food and culture of Barcelona every step of the way.

Walk, eat delish tapas, drink Spanish wine, repeat. - What a treat to visit small local places off the beaten track and taste delicious and authentic Spanish tapas and wines. We learned about the dishes and tried lots of new things. Good portions. Everything we ate was so tasty and Esther was a great and knowledgeable guide.

A fantastic tour with "less traditional" tapas - Had a wonderful night with excellent tapas and a very informative and friendly guide, Noah. We have done the tapa tour in the Gothic Quarters before and did the Poble-Sec area this time. The tapas were less traditional ( not the usual bomba, croquetta, etc) and we had 3 stops - 2 for savory tapas and the last for desserts. All of the stops offered wine and beer and we had cava at the last stop. The tapas included three types of jamon - pork, beef and tuna, alcachofas con mojama (artichokes with cured tuna), carrillada ibérica (Iberian pork cheek), cazón (fried dogfish), lagartito ibérico (Iberian pork stew), mollete pringá (pork belly sandwich) ..... to mention a few. Noah entertained with the history of the food, the area we visited and was all-in-all an excellent "host". At the end of the tour, we were truly "stuffed" and could not take another bite, but extremely satisfied. Would highly recommend this tour.

Fabuloso! - Our evening with Tito was extraordinary! He was informative, personable and a pleasure to spend time with. He took us to three tapas restaurants we would never have found on our own all of them culinary delights. He recommended wine to pair with the food and told us the history of the Catalan cuisine we were enjoying. Between each one we had a delightful walk through interesting neighborhoods. The third stop was where we had sumptuous desserts and Cava. Fabuloso! We would book with this company again and highly encourage you to do the same. Bravo Tito!

Excellent Tour, Amazing Food - We did the Poble-Sec tapas tour with Allison and had an amazing experience. We went to three restaurants with different styles and learned a lot about Spanish and Catalan food and culture. The small group setting is perfect and we all immediately became friends. There was a ton of food and it was absolutely worth the money. The walk between a couple of the restaurants was a bit long (about 20 minutes) and some of the older people in our group struggled with it; keep that in mind if anyone in your group has mobility issues. Overall an absolute recommend, and I would definitely do one of their tours again if I'm back in BCN!
