Additional Information

Step off to start your Raval Exploration Walk in front of Sant Pere Nolasc Mercedaris church located right next to Plaça de Castella. Your journey begins from there, down the lively lanes of the Raval district. The first stop point is Casa de la Misericordia, a place where abandoned children found refuge, and some, as the tales suggest, still haunt the hallways. Later on, we’ll casually walk through Raval’s energetic streets to unexpectedly find ourselves at the dwelling place of the alleged Vampire of Raval. You get to question if vampires ever truly perish and observe how reality merges with mythology in the context of Barcelona’s infamous slabber, the Vampire. Visit the former la Santa Creu Hospital, ramble around the garden where once spectacles and enchantments of an uncanny nature were a common sight. Our path continues to the Church of Sant Pau del Camp, the eldest church in Barcelona with a notable history. Afterwards, get ready to explore the southern section of Raval. Absorb astounding stories about the long-gone days when clubs and cabarets were the main attractions in this area, and where one can still notice excellent street art.

El Reval Walking Tour - This dark history tour lets you see some of the grungier side of Barcelona. 5 stars! We really whooped our time with Eoghan (Owen) as our guide! He set the bar so high and was the perfect guide to cap off our trip to Barcelona with. He was so knowledgeable and made the Reval tour so interesting in the way he told his stories as we were led about the city. 10/10 would recommend!

You HAVE to take this tour when in Barcelona! - Our guide Cal was not only a wealth of knowledge on what is now a really cool area of this fascinating and eclectic city, but from the get go made us feel safe, secure and welcomed into what could be perceived from reading guide books as an area to avoid! He wove brilliant tales, took us to dizzying heights for spectacular views and allowed us into another "underbelly" world off the main tourist trail that many visitors don't get to see. This is a must do for those who want to dig a bit deeper into the grit of Barcelona's dirty little secrets!
