Worth every penny - Michael was very relaxed and personable. Tailored the tour to our request . It felt like a friend was showing us his city rather than a stranger. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer every query. We would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking an in depth local tour of beautiful, historic Basel.

Basel, Personally! - We had a fantastic personal tour with Rathel. She was very knowledgeable and gave us great tips for dining and things to explore on our own. She was try learned and gave the perfect intro to Basel and its rich history. Just what we hoped for!

Enjoyable stroll - Rachel was lovely. Very eager to show us important things and offer guidance about getting home, restaurants, etc.

Private is the way to go - We had a wonderful time with our guide, Rahel. In 2 hours, covered enough places to give us an appreciation of Basel. We communicated prior to meeting - she made sure we were dressed appropriately as it was cold. Also, she asked about areas we were most interested in. Most importantly, Rahel was very patient - stopped several times as I wanted to buy items. She is very accommodating.

Lovely afternoon - We had a lovely afternoon with Natalie. She is very charming, and took us to many interesting places thank you. We visited the cathedral and she also took us on a fascinating motorless ferry across the Rhine.

Excellent tour, Marko was fantastic! - This was a great tour. Our guide, Marko, met us right at the train station which was very convenient for us coming from another city that morning. We specifically asked for historical sites to see and Marko catered perfectly. We even got to go up in the tower of the Basel Münster at our request and took the ferry across the river. Marko was very personable and knowledgeable about the city.

Great Overall Highlights of Basel - Michael provided a wonderful overview of the city of Basel in the two hours we spent with him. We learned the layout of the city and saw many of the major sites of the city. Michael gave us a perfect foundation to explore the city on our own later in the day.

Lacking basic knowledge - Wow. I don’t even know where to start. And i don’t mean in a good way. First off, i want to premise that I’ve been traveling for over 2 months and done over 15 tours in that time. I have never had a tour that I wanted to leave from so badly. For what we payed, it was atrocious. The guide himself was friendly enough and tried to make the experience fun, but his lack of basic knowledge on the city isn’t made up by a fun personality. He read from a notebook the entire tour and wasn’t able to answer basic questions we had of “how old the buildings were” or “what does that symbol I’ve seen everywhere mean”. These are things you would expect the guide you payed a good amount of money for, to know. I’ve done free walking tours in cities all over Europe at this point that have been 10x better than what we had today. His lack of basic knowledge is really what made it a bad tour. The guide really makes or breaks the tour, and we experienced the latter today unfortunately. I had hoped to do another free tour in Basel but there wasn’t one available so we decided to pay for a private tour thinking it would be better than what I’ve already experienced. I wish i could say it was true. I have already gotten in touch with the company to request a refund. For what we payed, it was not worth the money. Hopefully if you do this tour, you get a different guide than us. I ended up pretending we had lunch reservations and had to leave early.
