Highlights
  • The Circus - As you journey from the port into the city of Basseterre, you are immediately welcomed by the warmth of the island’s residents. Upon reaching the center of Basseterre, a striking green clock monument will surely catch your eye. This clock was erected in honor of Lord Thomas Berkeley, a former president of the General Legislative Council in the 1880s, after a fire destroyed the city during British rule in the 1800s and it was rebuilt. This historic monument features four clocks facing four streets, four water stands, and a seating area around the clock, hence the name “The Circus.” It resembles Piccadilly Square in London, which hosts the famous clock, “Big Ben.” In St. Kitts, under British rule, ours became known as “Little Ben.”
  • Immaculate Conception Catholic Co-Cathedral - View the church built in 1856 and rebuilt between 1927 and 1928. This structure remains in good condition and is a historical architectural marvel, showcasing the artistic designs of its era.
  • Bloody Point - Bloody Point derives its name from the massacre of the Kalinago Indians in the village of Challengers in the 1600s. The British settled close to the Indians, claiming it was to protect the area’s chickens. Chief Tegreman grew suspicious when Sir Thomas Warner, the first governor of St. Kitts, returned from England with African slaves and more settlers. The chief sought help from a neighboring island as he planned his attack but was betrayed by a woman. It is said the massacre was so intense that the river ran red with blood for days.
  • Romney Manor - The Caribelle Batik (Romney Manor): US$3 per person
  1. Visit this picturesque garden with its diverse flora and occasional fauna, including green vervet monkeys and various birds. This property was once owned by the great-great-great-grandfather of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States. Witness the artistic process of drawing with hot wax on sea island cotton and purchase shirts, dresses, and more.

  2. View the largest living organism in St. Kitts, “The Saman Tree,” which is over 400 years old.

  3. Nearby are remnants from the 1650s, including an aqueduct, mill house for crushing cane, lime kiln, and more.

  4. Indian Petroglyphs, evidence of Amerindian presence.

  5. This was the home of Samuel Jefferson, the great-great-great-grandfather of U.S. 3rd President Thomas Jefferson.

  • Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park - This venue is only included in the “Panoramic Landmark Tour.”

A UNESCO World Heritage site. Entrance Fee: US$15 per person
Known as the “Gibraltar of the West Indies,” Brimstone Hill is a stunning fortress and now a UNESCO Heritage Site. A US$15 fee (inclusive of tour) is required for the continued restoration of this magnificent structure. A ‘flavor of the island’ tour - Ace was personable and very knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of interesting history and shared many good stories, so a good flavor of St Kitts was had! Loved the old sugar plantation and the manor with the old tree and beautiful grounds. The batik place was amazing but not enough time to shop after spending time on the gorgeous grounds. i would suggest allowing a good 45 min at the manor. Beautiful day and very worthwhile trip!

Gorgeous Romney Manor & Timothy Hill overlook! - Wonderful time at Romney Manor and visit to Timothy Hill! Our second time to RM and was very happy to be on this Viator tour. We were able to spend more time at this beautiful garden, walk to the Rum factory ruins, shop at the Caribelle batik shop then have a relaxing drink overlooking the gardens. Our tour guide, Juni was so pleasant and knew all the history of St Kitts. Timothy Hill overlook should not be missed. Stunning views of the Island!

Excellent short tour - Our driver picked us up as agreed at our hotel and gave us a little history as we drove to pick up the next set. Drivers commentary was great and we had an island tour. Timing means th actual visits to the Batik and Fort were a bit constrained but for the cost it represented excellent value.

Great way to see the island - Our van was comfortable. Our driver was helpful & knowledgeable. The views from the Brimstone Hill Fortress were amazing! The history is amazing. To see how long it has stood the test of time is impressive. There is an option to purchase a listening guide to learn more but we did not purchase that. The people that work in the little snack shack were not friendly at all! The french fries were amazing if the fresh ocean air makes one in a snacking mood or low blood sugar strikes. The Romney Manor was gorgeous. Learning about the Batik process was interesting. The Jefferson Rum Punch was good too! Awesome photo opportunities!

Didn’t show up……. - We booked this on the day, to have no one from the tour company arrive and meet us, in total a wasted 2 hours of our morning. Then with no other morning tours available wasted our morning on this beautiful island. Doubt I would recommend this company or viatour.

Terrible Tour - 29 usd pp and you get really nothing. It's not worth it. Don't take this tour. Best thing to take a local Taxi by yourself.
