Historical Relevance:
The St Kitts Scenic Railway journey operates on a narrow gauge railway, initially developed in the initial stages of the 20th century to facilitate sugar cane transportation from the island’s plantations to the sugar processing factory.
Scenic Travel Route: The train completes a 30-mile loop around the island, showcasing charming villages, magnificent rainforest scenery, urban and rural landscapes, rich agricultural terrains, and various livestock that appear to wander freely throughout the island.

A Train Above - I highly recommend this opportunity to see the beautiful countryside of St Kitts via train. The commentary is informative and guides your view throughout the adventure. Free beverages and a snack are a plus. All persons on the train were kind, attentive, and helpful.
Our tour contact, Zandra with Scenic Escapes, meet us after the train experience and offered us a tour of the other side of St Kitts which gave us breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic and Caribbean. Zandra shared her personal experiences of living on St Kitts and growing up on the island of paradise. She graciously accommodated our geocaching hobby. I highly recommend her services and the train ride.

Beautiful Scenes and Strong Rum Punch - Loved the rum punch that the hosts kept coming! This tour was informative and brought us to such beautiful views of the island and allowed us to learn if its history. Thanks Zandra for the great communication leading up to the trip!

Great trip on Kittitian Train Experience - This trip was booked through our travel agent for Thursday 8th February.
Unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
We were contacted by Zandra from Scenic Escapes St Kitts who apologised and promised to try and arrange another date.
The following morning (today) Zandra called to say we were able to go and that she would pick us up from our hotel and take us to the pick up point.
Thank you very much.
The train experience itself is amazing, we did the tour bus section first with an excellent guide Warner, pointing out all the places of interest.
The train ride was brilliant, fantastic commentary, great refreshments, rum punch etc and a little tasting of sugar cake.
The entertaining dance duo were superb.
Thank you for what was one of our best trips.
Do not hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it!!!!

Absolutely Worth It - I read other reviews that complain about "not stopping", but truly they just chose the wrong tour. This train experience was wonderful and from the Viator Rep Zandra to the bus driver Donald to every worker on the train, it was a wonderful experience. They were so personable and professional. They constantly served drinks, no chips, but we had frozen virgin daiquiris and they were great. I cannot wait to bring my children and grandchildren next time. Pro tip - if you are able to choose the early tour you still have time to do a beach or shopping tour afterwards. 😀

A must-do on St Kitts - Super-well organized tour from meeting our contact portside, interesting and entertaining land tour, train boarding and off-loading. On-board narrator knows her island and its history. Beverages were tasty and plentiful. Friendly staff. Scenery was lovely; sit in the open-air top to get the best views.

Nice but overpriced - The excursion was nice, only wish we had done it earlier in the week so we knew where we would like to go back. The train and the bus did not stop anywhere, only did a drive by so be quick with the cameras. I felt the train ride was a bit long at 90 minutes. It’s a very bumpy ride and I was ready to get off the last 30 minutes. The people were nice, friendly, and informative. The drinks were good and plentiful. I felt it was way over priced at $250 per couple.

Nice train ride overpriced. - It’s a nice train experience, you do get to see a lot of the island, the guide is good and you do get two drinks - alcoholic- if you want them. But it is way overpriced.

Wouldn’t recommend for the price paid- not worth it - The meeting time on your Viator reservation is not the meeting time off the ship for the bus. It’s around 30 minutes prior which This was not evident when booking. The bus tour was informative. Once you get onto the train stay onto the left hand side upper deck of the train otherwise you don’t see much. It’s not really an unlimited bar. Expect to get two drinks and a small cookie by the time the lady ( that worked hard) gets around both decks of the train. In carriage 1 the tour guide was situated and we could not hear any of the commentary as the speakers were turned down I assume due to microphone feedback. The train then broke down apparently 1 mile prior to the end so we spent an hour waiting next to a quarry kicking up dust, before they decided to back the taxis up the tracks to collect us after it couldn’t be fixed. A lot of the second half of the bus tour after the train was centred around industrial units and the rubbish dumps.
