Good experience. - We were picked up by Juan at our hotel. Our tour guide today was Alex. They were both very nice and friendly. Alex was quite knowledgeable and he did a good job of making sure everything ran smoothly and on time.

Heaven on earth - Punctual pickup, friendly guide, and an extremely beautiful island. While you may be accustomed to stunning beaches, this place surpasses any commercial beach setting. It’s so breathtakingly beautiful that photos can’t fully capture its essence. If you’re hesitating, you should definitely go. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Most amazing trip! - This excursion was the highlight of our trip. Alex and Barre provided exceptional service and the information on the Dominican history, heritage and culture was very interesting. SAONA was beautiful. All the staff were welcoming and entertaining. Take cash with you so you can enjoy the succulent Pina coladas and massages at the beach and also for the pictures from the photographers! 10/10 would definitely do it again!

Great day at the island! - Trip is great overall! Highlights: Alex and Barry the drive are great! Alex is very well informed about this country and what makes it unique. He stays with the tour the entire way & you can tell he really wants everyone to have a great time. The pit stop to swim was great refresher especially since your in a bus for about and half and a half to get there. The island was beautiful, water was crystal clear and everyone was very kind. The sand is super soft & natural. Trip back on a catamaran was delightful & entertaining. Improvements: Showers on island- we jumped over to another hut that was operational although not our tour. Food was ehh Be prepared for: Seats on boat are tight! But you can’t change that so just be prepared is all. Long day- it’s a lot of travel to get to the locations. I’d say overall you get about an 2 hours in water, the rest is travel time & about 2 hours on the catamaran

Good Day but Long with Mostly Travel - Overall a good day but it's a great deal of travel for only a few hours at the stops. We were at the Jewel Palm resort and from the time we got picked up (7:30 am) to dropped off was 11 hours. We were 45 minutes at the "blue lagoon" stop and 2 hours on Saona. So basically 2 hours and 45 minutes of stops for 8 hours and 15 minutes of travel time. We took a speed boat out to Saona and a catamaran back. When we were in Barbados, our catamaran tour Capt. ran on sails for the majority of the trip which was awesome - so quiet and so peaceful to run on wind. All of the catamaran tours we saw running that day (and there were many tour companies out there) were running on dual outboard engines which to me defeats the charm of a catamaran. The good: Saona Island is truly beautiful The bad: Lots of travel Lots of vendors pitching you at every section of the trip Open bar on the boat was limited to basic rum and warm coke in little plastic cups Side note: The fresh pina colada in a whole pineapple offered at Saona beach is tasty but not sure if it was worth $20 USD. Bottom line, a good day but be prepared for a long day of mostly sitting while in transit. Bring appropriate clothes and/or sunscreen as there is limited shade from the sun on the open water and you'll be out there for quite some time.
