Fahai Temple - The Ming Dynasty murals of Fahai Temple are considered among the world’s greatest paintings. Completed in 1443, this masterpiece involved 15 skilled royal painters and 169 royal craftsmen, covering an area of 236.7 square meters and divided into ten sections. In 1937, a British journalist named Angela Latham, who was also an expert muralist, documented this long-hidden treasure with her words and photos, which were published in the London News. She described it as “a lovely landscape appeared, with seated Pusa, floating in the clouds, a pine tree and waterfall, mountains, rocks and flowers, splendid vast design, in true fresco technique, here surely unseen, unsung, is one of the world’s greatest paintings.” This brought international fame to Fahai Temple. The numerous stone carvings in the Tianyi Tomb Area are of high artistic and aesthetic value, representing the exquisite stone carving art of the late Ming Dynasty.
