Highlights
  • Mutianyu Great Wall - Your English speaking guide and private car will pick you up at 8:30am in your hotel’s lobby

First, you will visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu section, drive from city to Mutianyu need 1.5 hours. Mutianyu is popular because it is far enough away from Beijing to avoid the stifling large crowds (like at the Badaling section of the wall), and of course the views are incredible:

The Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year. Built mainly from granite, the pass at Mutianyu is an appropriately unique section of the Great Wall. 7 to 8 meters high, and 4 to 5 meters high with crenellations on both sides of the Wall, the section of the Wall at Mutianyu stretches for over 2 kilometers.

Your English speaking guide will accompany you and explain all the histories and stories to you, feel free to ask any questions to your guide

  • 798 Art Zone - Then you  will head  to  the 798 art district, on the way you will enjoy a delicious lunch in the local village

798 Art District, also known as Dàshānzi, is Beijing’s main concentration of contemporary art galleries. The industrial complex celebrates its proletarian roots in the communist heyday of the 1950s via the retouched red Maoist slogans decorating gallery walls and statues of burly, lantern-jawed workers dotting the lanes. The giant former factory workshops are ideally suited to multimedia installations and other ambitious projects. The largest, most influential art district in China – the 798 – hosts world-class international and Chinese exhibitions in the midst of former weapons factories. The number of visitors to the 798 Art District reached as high as 75 million.

After the tour finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Great trip with a great guide - We took a day trip to the Great Wall and Art District. The trip was really interesting and gave me a great insight into not on the Great Wall but also Chinese history and culture. This was the 3rd trip to China but my first time taking a private tour and I would highly recommend this as a good way of seeing so much in a short time.

Brilliant tour guide- highly recommend - This tour was excellent. Miko greeted me and my colleague at our hotel in the morning and we were first driven to the Great Wall. Mikos english was brilliant, he was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge on both Beijing and the Great Wall. He had a great sense of humour and kept us updated with interesting facts both on the journey there and whilst at the wall. He takes photographs for you throughout the day which is an added bonus! We took the cable car up to the wall instead of walking as it saved a lot of time! The toboggan down was so much fun and definitely a must when visiting the wall! He took us to an authentic Chinese noodle bar which was very popular with the locals so we knew it was going to be good! The art district was really interesting and definitely a must see if you are visiting Beijing! After this they then drop you back at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this private tour to anyone! Thank you Miko, we will definitely be recommending his tours to our colleagues back in the UK for when they come to visit.
