Of course you can choose to add a tour guide who will hike the Wall with you and explain the related histories along the way. There is no factory and shopping stops, the service is valid for 9 hours.

- You may have a Chinese speaking driver who knows exactly where to go. Your driver is with a phone translator. If you require an English speaking driver please add in the “special requirements”

Excelent spot, less crowded. - Or driver, 张建我 (Zhang Jianwo) was amazing. He picked us up from our hotel and drive us safe to simatai. Our trip was transport only, but he put us an audio to explain the history of simatai and walked with us all the way to Gubei. The place was so nice we decided to stay more time and he waited for us.
The trip includes 9 hours, it takes 2 hours to get there and 2 back, and 5 hours there is not enough. Consider staying more time up front.
Overall the trip and service was excelent!!

The most convenient way to explore the Great Wall without crowds - We booked the 9-hours tour, the tour booking process was smooth. The driver met us at the hotel lobby and took directly to the Jingshanling Great Wall cable car entrance and bought the entrance tickets for us. We also purchased separately the cable car tickets to go up onto the wall itself (a good way to save time).
One way by car takes approximately 2,5 hours from the center of Beijing.
We started our tour at 11:00 and around 13:30 we were at the cable car. On the wall upon leaving the cable car, we took the West direction and went till the end, the last parts of the wall in this direction are original and have never been restored (but safe). From there we went down to where we started (cable car entrance) from the Taochunkou tower. We were at the cable car entrance at 16:30 (the driver told us to be back at 17:30 and we thought the way down from Taochunkou tower will take longer considering that the exist close at 17:00, in fact the way down by foot from Taochunkou tower to cable car entrance takes around 15-20 minutes only).
We didn’t have a chance to explore East direction, so if you want to want to explore both directions, make sure to book more than 9-hour tour.
If you want to explore the Great Wall without crowds (in fact, almost alone!) - going to Jingshanling seems to be the best option.
The driving was very comfortable!

5 out of 5 experience! - Smooth drive from Beijing to the Great Wall and back. Very tasty lunch at a recommended family restaurant.
Even though he did not speak English, our driver Mr. Zhang (hope i spell it correctly 🙂) used a translating app and conveyed every information needed, and replied to all our questions.
He was allways very friendly and helpful. He even took care of our baby when we had lunch 😁. It's a shame that we couldn't speak more easily because he really seems like a great person to get to know.
Really great experience, i recommend this activity to everyone who needs transport to visit the great wall, and especially our driver Mr. Zhang!

Would Recommend! - We rode with 孫先生 (Mr. Sun), and had a fantastic trip! He shared history facts during the drive about the Great Wall (I speak Chinese so we didn’t have to rely on an interpreter which made that easier and enabled him to share more with us than a typical drive might entail). We were also impressed with his driving skills. The traffic back into Beijing was HORRID due to all of the trucks heading into the city needed to have their loads checked and thus holding up the one lane road, but he was able to weave us in and out of traffic safely and professionally, allowing us to get back to the hotel in a more reasonable amount of time. He was also willing to drop us off at the main gate and pick us up from the east gate, so we had the chance to hike along the top of the wall for several hours, which was awesome. We did go over time by several hours due to the traffic back and the duration of time hiking, and sent him money via Alipay for the additional time spent in the car, so do keep that potential additional cost in mind if you want to hike the wall, but in our opinion it was worth the cost! Also, he had several water bottles prepared for us, and snacks - which was a thoughtful gesture. All in all, a great trip at a reasonable cost for the time spent. You may be able to find a lower rate by negotiating with a taxi driver, but I enjoyed not having to worry about that hassle at 7am in the morning.

Great Walk on the Great Wall in Jinshanling - Walking on the Great Wall is already incredible in itself, but Mr Huang made it an even more fantastic experience. He was our guide and was so knowledgeable and patient (I asked him too many pictures). He tailored the tour to our need and made our experience unique. I definitely recommend him.

Great service! - Had a great driver service to Janshinling with Mr. Zhang Jian! Super clean and new car with free water for the 2 hour drive. Good communication over a translator app so I was clear on how to find him after my walk on the wall. He also kindly got me a Great Wall fridge Magnet and cookies for the ride back 😊 And he was clearly very experienced in driving in that area as he got around all the heavy construction traffic leaving the Great Wall and we made it back to Beijing in 2 hours! Definitely recommend if you're thinking of going to the Great Wall. It was very nice to be able to relax and nap after the walk!

Jinshanling is amazing! - Visiting Jinshanling section of the wall is definitely worth it! It was beautiful and not crowded at all. At times there were no other people around us on the wall.
We took the transfer without the guide. Tian Wei was a good driver, and even though he didn't speak English, we communicated well via translate apps. We walked to the East Gate and he was waiting for us there.

Excellent service! - We had a great driver called Zhao. Zhao was very friendly and helpful. During the drive his car had wifi, water and sweets for us to eat. He made sure that we had enough warm clothes and helped us purchase our entrance ticket.
Booking this service made the journey to the Wall very easy. We got picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
