Easy to get same day tickets - Every web site, hotel and Chinese person will tell you it’s impossible the get entrance tickets online. That’s true, all are being grabbed by the big agencies within minutes the website opens. Don’t try to get tickets from other websites. Simply walk on the day itself to the ticketing booth of the South entrance. It’s located 100 meters south of the South Entrance, on the left side. Simply present your passport and ask for tickets, that’s it, you will get them as long as you have a foreign passport. They will not give you any paper ticket but scan the photo on your passport. A face recognition system at the entrance will then compare you with your passport picture and let you in. We paid 110RMB or less than 20US$ for 2 adults and our 14 year old. Some people will try to sell you tickets at 300RMB or 42US$ a piece. Don’t accept, they may send you to the same ticket office and pocket the difference as a “guide” fee.

Never again - Shame. No one there to help. I had to buy a new ticket. Luckily, the official price was circa 9 USD, half of Viator's charge
