Me, Ozan and my wife Daisy want to invite you to our home to explore one of the most interesting elements of Turkey’s cultures. Folk dances are a big part of not only Turkish culture but also a part of the culture for all minorities that exist in Turkey. We call this, Halay.
Firstly, we will welcome you to our home to get to know each other a bit and introduce our cultures to each other. After some tea and getting in the mood, we will tell you about the regions that these dances are mostly performed at. After that, we will take position and say “LET THE HALAY BEGIN”.
After dancing, laughing and performing multiple dance types, we will sit together and enjoy some tea from our scenic terrace.
At the end of the experience, you will leave home with a skill that you can show off at the weddings in Turkey. And trust me, if you really want to feel a wedding in Turkey, you need to be a part of the halay.
