- San Juan de Gaztelugatxe - Heading east from Bilbao, we will arrive to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a location used for the filming of Game of Thrones Season 7, to admire the breathtaking views of this ancient islet on the Gulf of Biscay from its lookout point. \n\nNote: we will only stop for a few minutes for photo opportunities; we will not do the hike to the top of the hermitage.\n- Gernika-Lumo - Continuing eastward, we will visit the village of Gernika, best known outside of the Basque region for being the place where one of the first aerial bombings against civilian population took place in 1937.\n- Zumaia - We will cross into the province of Gipuzkoa and head towards Zumaia to admire the spectacular coastline of the province of Gipuzkoa and its famous Flysch, another location used for the filming of Game of Thrones Season 7.\n\nFrom here, we will take a short stroll along the Flysch Route and contemplate one of the most breathtaking sceneries of the entire Basque Coast (also a wonderful spot for photo opportunities).\n- Getaria Fishing Port - Continuing east along the coastal road, we will bump into extensive green fields packed with Txakoli vineyards overlooking the sea and catch a glimpse of our next destination: the beautiful coastal town of Getaria, known for being an important fishing sea port, home to the museum of famous fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, and the birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elcano, the first man to circumnavigate the earth.\n\nEnjoy a guided stroll through the village and its famous port, while learning about its history, the traditional Basque fishing methods, and important personalities born in Getaria. \n- Playa de Zarautz - Following the coastal road, we will make a short stop at the lookout point in Zarautz to admire the views of the longest beach of the Basque Country. \n- San Sebastian - Donostia - We will arrive into San Sebastian to drop you off at your accommodation and bid you farewell. This marks the end of our transfer trip through the Basque Coast.

The True Basque Country Experience - An unqualified recommendation. Ander is among the very best guides you could ever hope for. He was born and raised in Basque Country (San Sebastian). He is very friendly, courteous, fun (yet extremely professional), articulate (speaks 5 languages fluently and articulately, including English), extremely knowledgeable of the area, history, culture, best sights, restaurants, bars (Pintxos), etc. We had last minute itinerary changes and he graciously accommodated our needs. My wife and I were very interested in the Basque history, culture and sights (I have distant ancestors from the Basque country) and he exceeded our highest hopes & expectations. He chauffeured us in a new Mercedes van which was very comfortable. We experienced our tour in every way: sights, sounds, food, culture, history... extraordinary for 1 day. I am certain there could not have been a better gentleman to guide us through our day in the Basque Country. When he dropped us off, we felt like we were saying good bye to a member of our extended family.
