A must for those who want to experience the Asian side of Istanbul and it’s food - Excellent food and clear information from our guide. The walking tour encompasses several food types and the culture of the area

A great experience of Istanbul's Asian side and of the city's food culture - This tour was a great way to get to know the local food culture and to see the very interesting Asian side of the city. The food was delicious and there was plenty to eat. Our guide Türkan was friendly and knowledgeable, and she shared a lot of interesting information about the food and about Istanbul.

Nice food tour with local flair - A very nice tour, esp. for the first time visitors. You get what is advertised, which is - all sorts of traditional food while walking the market-like narrow streets of Asian side. While the area that the tour covers is fairly compact, there are plenty of stops, food and talk, so 5 hours just fly by. Since this is an evening tour, there is a very nice bonus of crossing Bosphorus after-dark, so plenty of nighttime Istanbul photo opportunities. Please note that it's a small group tour, so you'll be with other travellers. In our case there were just 3 of us and it was a fantastic experience. The pickup point (the pier) is convenient and hard to miss. Huge shout out to our guide Türkan, she really did a great job making it a memorable evening!

Amazing food tour - What an evening. Out guide was knowledgeable, funny and kept us informed the entire night. The food choices were varied and excellent.

For the most foodie curious of you - This tour and guide was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. Salih is very knowledgable as his history of cooking in restaurants attests. For the curious, this evening experience will fill your cup and runneth over. I especially loved the variety. Even all new and different drinks accompanied. Salih was considerate to modify my tastings for my gluten free sensitivity. I left this tour with a full belly and made new friends to boot. My only suggestion would be that he carry a little sign, or maybe tell us ahead what color T shirt he will be wearing so he can be easily spotted at the dock. Coming to a very crowded ferry terminal in a new city can be daunting and confusing.

Amazing two-continent foodie experience - We loved the evening 'foodie tour', with so much appreciation for what we learned about Turkish food, culture, and history along the way. We were not familiar with My Local Guide Istanbul before booking two tours with them and are so happy we chose this small group tour company (especially after seeing so many other tours whose guides and participants had flags, earpieces, and more). Wonderful food experience! - Our guide Salih was really able to give us a full (and delicious) view of the food scene in Istanbul. Our group was small and interesting, from every walk of life, and being solo was totally fine! The food was delicious, transport was fast and efficient and every spot we stopped at was superb! Would/will recommend to everyone visiting Istanbul who wants to have a real food tour you'll never forget. My only wish was that I had done this the first night there and not the last! Incredible way to experience Istanbul - Incredible bang for your buck! Knowledgeable tour guide and food tour that includes 10+ foods, each more delicious and interesting than the last. Our guide obviously had personal relationships with each restaurant/vendor and had detailed recommendations at each stop. Especially love that this includes a ferry ride to the Asian side and back. As a solo traveling woman, I don’t always feel safe venturing around alone at night, so this was the perfect way to spend an evening/night exploring the city.

The best evening of the week - That was the highlight of our trip to Istanbul. The young tour guide Türkan was amazing. She was very detailed and had a targeted approach. Lots of little things to taste and try, I was totally full and happy at the end of the day. All the stops were prepared and the mussel seller is unique in his own right. This trip was worth the €100.

Excellent choice for a food tour on the Asian side! - What a great experience! The food choices were excellent, and we appreciated that the tour was mainly on the Asian side. We had everything from cured meats to picked veggies to steamed mussels to doner kebab. A truly eclectic mix. Our guide Turkan was phenomenal! So glad we had the privilege of meeting her and learning from her about the food of the Asian side. She is very passionate about being a tour guide, and also calm and personable. Thanks, Turkan!
