Highlights
  • Bhaktapur Durbar Square - Bhaktapur Durbar Square is home to numerous examples of art, architecture, and historical monuments. Among these, we will explore some of the most notable sites. Visitors can see a variety of pagodas and Shikhara-style temples.

One temple features a 55-Window Palace constructed from brick and wood. This durbar square showcases statues of ancient kings atop stone monoliths. Additionally, guardian deities watch over from their shrines, and the wood carvings create a harmonious display.

Highlights of the square include the palace of 55 windows, the Golden Gate, the National Art Gallery, Nyatpole, Pottery Square, and more. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the largest palaces in the Kathmandu valley and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town also offers a glimpse into Newari culture, with their art and craftsmanship evident in the windows, doors, and everyday items.

  • Nyatapola Temple - Nyatapola is a five-tiered temple situated in the heart of Bhaktapur, Nepal. It is the tallest structure in the city and the tallest temple in Nepal. Commissioned by King Bhupatindra Malla, its construction took six months, from December 1701 to July 1702. Standing at 108.26 feet, it is the tallest temple in Nepal.
  • Pottery Square - As the name suggests, Pottery Square is filled with pottery works. It is just a few minutes’ walk from Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Although smaller than Durbar Square, it is a hub for shopping for Nepalese handicrafts. The center of this square is often filled with clay wares and local grains for finishing touches.
  • Nagarkot View Tower - Nagarkot is a popular tourist destination in Nepal. The Nagarkot View Tower stands at about 2165 meters above sea level, offering a 360-degree view of the Himalayas. This spot is renowned for its views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley. From here, you can see Mount Everest with its snow-capped peaks and an observation tower at the top of the village hills. Eight of Nepal’s 13 Himalayan ranges, including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Mahalangur (Everest), and Numbur, are visible from this point.

The Kathmandu Valley and Shivapuri National Park are also visible from the top. This tour package is ideal for a day tour or for those interested in nature walks, with an additional day in Bhaktapur. The Nagarkot and Bhaktapur day tour takes you to the beautiful village of Nagarkot to witness a stunning sunrise.

  • Nagarkot Buddha Peace Park Hiking Trail - Buddha Peace Park is a serene destination carved into the Himalayan foothills of Nagarkot. It is a tranquil park surrounded by beautiful nature. The scenic beauty and remoteness make it a highly sought-after destination.

The cold wind and lush greenery create a pristine atmosphere, offering a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Kathmandu Valley.

The remote trails provide a challenging hike. The park is located on the way to Nagarkot, on the left-hand side as you head towards Nagarkot.
