Hebi - This was fun, but they fish for the “big fish”, and they will try hard to find them. However, like any “fishing”, if they aren’t there or don’t bite, you will not catch them. In 6 hours, we hooked two short billed spearfish (69” long) and had a small female marlin checked out the lure, but she was too unsure and swam away. We saw a pod of pilot whales and a tiger shark named “Lavern”. We kept a small portion of our catch and were able to find a place to cook it for us. THAT was delicious! Bring sunblock and layered clothing, the weather can be unpredictable. If you get seasick, Bonine works well. They will provide small snacks and water, but if you want something else, you can bring it. There is a Texaco gas station with snack and hot foods, west of where you turn in to the marina. Have fun!!! The water is deeeeepppp!!!! And you don’t have to go too far off shore to find that out.

Very fun fishing adventure - The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. The six hours passed quickly with conversation and views of the island coastline. We had three fish on the line and brought a very nice blue marlin up to the boat. The boat and tackle are top notch, I highly recommend this trip for a fun fishing adventure.

Great Experience-Family with Teens - Fantastic experience! You do need some patience. We had 3 teens/young adult with us and patience is not exactly their forte. It took a bit to get the first catch but then there was lots of activity. The captain did take some additional time since we got a later catch (not sure what exactly is the norm). Would 10/10 recommend!

Awesome! - Trip was great been on 5 different charters and this was by far by best luck catching fish! We catch a large Mahi and a rare Spear fish!

striped marlin - Went out fishing with my dad and It was one of the best most memorable days ever . we caught a striped marlin. It was about 6 feet and around 80 to 100 pounds! We had captain Dan and he filleted the fish for us to take home. The charter provided a memorable and enjoyable day on the water. 10/10 recommend

Excellent Trip ! I’m Hooked ! Highly Recommended. - My first deep sea fishing experience and it was awesome! My wife and I booked this trip as part of our anniversary celebration. So we contacted Captain Brent to book a 6 hour fishing trip and we are so happy we did . The boat was very nice and clean and stocked with bottle water and snacks for the trip. Captain Brent and his crew really made this trip an unforgettable celebration. They are very experienced at what they do and took care of all the details while we enjoyed the boat ride and seeing how everything works. After a couple hours we hooked a pair of spearfish and let me tell you, this was the moment we were waiting for, full of adrenaline pumping and excitement! a lifetime moment we will never forget. Bucket List - Excellent day on the water with Captain Brent and deckhand Matt. All gear provided. Great boat. The crew was knowledgeable and very accommodating. Caught three beautiful Mahi Mahi and one was a bull over 50 pounds. I will definitely be fishing with Reel Escapes on my next trip to Kona. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Amazing Trip Catching Fish! - I grew up salmon and trout fishing in the east and have always wanted to deep sea fish. Well I booked a trip with Reel Escapes Hawaii during a recent trip hoping to land a big one. Well, the trip did not disappoint. I caught an Ono which put up a great fight with several jumps. What an awesome experience. I was also amazed with the knowledge of our captain. I did not expect to learn so much about fishing lanes in Hawaii or about Hawaiian culture and history. The most amazing time deep sea fishing!! 🎣 - My family and I went on a trip and had the most amazing time! The crew worked hard all day setting lures and checking lines. You could tell how important it was for them to see us catch. They were also very knowledgeable & friendly! You don’t always see that with some charters. They’re super passionate about what they do and it was such a pleasure for each and every one of us! My first time ever deep sea fishing and we hooked an Ono!
