Great family activity! - This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. My 11-year old and I learned so much about what it takes to live "off the grid" and about the plants in the area. We enjoyed Jason and Nikki's enthusiasm about their lifestyle and property. Jason's tikis and lava rock carvings are amazing and he was kind enough to give my son a try at carving wood and chiseling rock. It was a truly authentic experience, which is rare as a tourist. And a fun, interactive thing to do with kids. We were able to book the little cabin "The Okina" through AirBNB and experience the jungle and all its sounds at night, which completed the experience.
