Formidable Mother Nature - A full and long day but worth every minute. So lucky to have Mel as our guide. Professional throughout the entire day, anticipating our questions. A very experienced and knowledgeable guide. A day of making wonderful memories. The tour bus however was in need of some TLC, a very noisy rear window which rattled and side step on leaving the vehicle was a big step down. My tip would be to wear covered comfortable footwear with good grip as there is plenty of chance to walk out onto the volcanic Landscape and take a lightweight rain jkt for walking in the Rainforest and Lava Tube. Brilliant Day!

Fun way to see the whole island in ONE DAY!! - Loved our tour guide! Don’t know how to spell his name but he said to call him “I wanna”” like “I wanna have fun”- haha! He kept the energy up throughout the very long tour. Make sure you take snacks or even some sandwiches tho bc others in the group weren’t prepared for the long tour and complained the whole time. Loved taking the scenic routes and seeing the island locals spots! THANK YOU !

Excellent Big Island volcanoes tour - We had such a great time on this tour especially because our tour guide, Mel, shared an incredible amount of knowledge about the island, the Hawaiian culture and each place visited. Pay attention to his instructions as safety is his number one concern. There’s plenty of opportunities to take pictures, walk in a lava field and a black sand beach, walk through a lava tube and visit a volcano and see its steam coming through the mountain. It was such an exciting day! Bring your energy, a light jacket and your phone flashlight for the lava tube. I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Mel or another guide as friendly and knowledgeable to enhance the experience!

Awesome Day Trip to the Big Island - Our tour guide Mel was fantastic! We had the best experience and learned so much history as we ventured to different stops. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the most of the Big Island in one day. The volcano was cool to see since it’s was active and erupting during our visit.

Fake trip - Due to the fact that my trip didn’t take place and my booking seems like was moved without to inform me, I had all the flight costs and lost of time for this day trip to a nice “fake dream trip”. I had a very poor support for all this situation, so I will definitely NOT recommend this site due to lack of seriousness. It’s the way you get a bad feeling about your holiday, it was just horrible.

Highly disappointing & Not worth for Money - Review Summary: I would not recommend the Viator tour to anyone. The service is not worth the money they charge, and it was highly unprofessional, with several delays and issues. I would suggest going with a local tour operator instead. They often charge the same or even less, provide private tours, and can tailor the experience to your preferences. We simply asked one of our ubercab drivers and arranged a wonderful private tour the next day to visit the locations we missed. Review details: During the Viator tour, we experienced several problems: 1. The driver canceled several locations without consulting us, citing his lateness as the reason. Another reason was that some people from the tour had to catch their flight. However, this should not have resulted in the shortening of our trip. He didn't even bother to ask us (I don't want to speculate, but I had the feeling this might have been because we are not American; however, let's stick to the facts). We paid the full amount, so why didn't we receive the full tour? All these issues arose because the tour started significantly late. Here are the details: 2. The pickup was significantly delayed, with the driver arriving 30-40 minutes late. 3. At one point, the driver made an unscheduled stop at his house, causing a delay of approximately 10-15 minutes (Isn't this is unprofessional?). 4. The driver took a nap for approximately 40-minute, despite our group returning on time and waiting for him to open the van's door. We were not informed in the itinerary that we would have to wait for his nap, and this seemed highly unprofessional on Viator's part. 5. The driver was meant to provide a guided tour but he was consistently talking about his family matters, leaving us struggling to recall when he actually talked about the tour. 6. Lastly, the driver didn't have the promised refreshment like soda, which was mentioned in the Viator itinerary. Due to these delays and disruptions, we had to spend a good amount of money the next day to book another tour to visit the remaining places from the tour. This alternative tour was far superior, more professional, and it was a "Private tour" just for my family so it added more places from Hawaii on the go. (Even the Viator driver also told us that he gives private tours with a similar charge, so basically one can get this option from most of the cabdrivers in Hawaii). Unfortunately, the Viator app lacks chat services, unlike the customer oriented apps in 2023, and there is no complaint box in the Viator app, but they have a feedback option with a very limited character count, which was not sufficient to explain why this tour had issues.
