The Truth About Kulaniapia Falls - The 4 hour round trip from Kona is worth the $69.00 fee. The first 25 miles is a scenic view where you can see where lava once flowed. Once you hang a right, it’s 50 miles of boredom. Up the mountain, down the mountain until you come into Hilo. As you maneuver through town, you’ll come upon 4+ miles of a tight single road back up into the mountain, albeit at 15mph. Eventually, you’ll come to a gate, punch in the code given to you and pleasantly greeted by (Rachel). There are 2 ways down to the waterfall. The rocky way or the longer way through the beautiful grounds (which I recommend, as it’s so much easier) Pictures don’t do the waterfall justice. It is GORGEOUS. Space is limited so they don’t allow just anyone. There were 3 other couples there at 1:00 on a Sunday There’s kayak rentals (if you want to get closer to the waterfall) It can be a bit rocky getting into the water so I recommend beach shoes. It is paradise. Tranquil, clean. The water is a bit chillier than the ocean but you get used to it. If you’re going to ask somebody to marry you, this would be a great place to do it. Please make sure to fill out all the necessary paperwork ahead of time so you’re not wasting your time once you get there, as the timeslots are limited Bring your own cooler for drinks and snacks. They have exceptionally clean bathrooms there. Take the time to walk the grounds. There are two additional waterfalls below, great for taking pictures, complete with Buddha and amazing bamboo and landscapes for fantastic photographs

Waterfall Memories - It was an amazing experience! While we couldn't swim because the water was too rough, my daughter and I (Mommy and daughter vacation before college) loved the trail to the waterfall and we made memories that brought us back to when she was little! The area was beautiful and the young lady that worked there was extremely nice!

Tropical gem - Spectacular property, the water fall And pond are just incredible. No crowds, just tropical paradise. The hostess greeting us was very friendly and informative. Very clean bathroom and showers at the tops/reception (which was a bonus surprise). Bring some bug spray for the lower path as we ran into a few mosquitoes. Overall one of the highlights of our trip!

Waterfall Swimming - The property is very well kept and nice. The waterfall was beautiful. Water was extremely cold to swim in and rocky. Overall loved the seclusion of swimming in the waterfalls and kayaking. I highly suggest coming to property for the experience. They do not offer food on-site or at least didn't during our visit.

Extremely Disappointed and would not recommmend - My family was very disappointed with our visit. The app made it sound like they had a lot of trails and a great swimming experience but that is not what we experienced. They only have two short trails which were not recently mowed so we were eaten up by bugs. The swimming pool was extremely hard to get into the water due to all the large rocks. This is especially difficult for families with kids. The staff were friendly but this is definitely a rip off for the amount we had to pay for a family. The roads getting there were only one very narrow lane with no place to pull off when another car met you. This is not an activity I would recommend.

Proper cancellation wasn't explained until it was too late. $138 for nothing - No experience. I tried to cancel a few days before the trip but they didn't provide the proper cancellation procedure until it was under the 24 hour notice.
