A must do!!! - This was a truly magical experience. We were all pretty nervous about the night swim, but our guides were funny and very calming. Manta Rays came right up to us, smacking us numerous times. This is not something I would have thought to do on my own, but when I saw the listing I thought it would be interesting. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and a must when you visit the island.

Huge manta rays, dolphin sighting and star gazing! - Know how to swim. The crew really makes a trip like this. Some experiences are shorter, this was a perfect length of time ( 2 1/2 hours). We did the 7:30 pm so we got sunset takeoff and night snorkeling. I was originally bummed 9 pm was full but not after this incredible experience! Water and temp were perfect, unlimited snacks and we even saw a dolphin!!!! The captain and crew make you feel comfortable and safe from start to finish, in and out of the water. Plenty of jokes & fun facts, epic tunes and a star gazing ride back was icing on the cake. I Loved this tour’s option where I could go in and my husband could stay on the boat and not dive. One of the most incredible experiences, Thanks crew!

Rays Everywhere! - This was a truly amazing experience, and I’m glad I did it. The rays were bigger than I expected, and there were lots of them (6-10 I think. We might have been lucky to see that many, I’m not sure that happens every time. The water was fairly warm too, which I also think isn’t that way every day. The two guides were great, they were insightful and very friendly. Would absolutely do this again. For those wondering how it goes, they provide wetsuits and snorkel gear (if you didn’t bring your own) then lead everyone to the boat. They have soda, juice, and snacks aboard. It was about a 15-20 minute drive to the site. When we got there, we spent almost an hour in the water watching the rays. Basically, everyone held on to a floating device that had a light and handles, while keeping a noodle between our legs. The way it works, is the light attracts plankton, which the manta rays eat. Since you’re near the light, the manta rays will swim up very close to you and may even touch you (don’t intentionally touch them). What’s also neat is that the Big Island is the only place in the world where you can do this because the rays here are trained to feed this way. The local rays actually taught each other how to do this, which I find fascinating. You don’t have to be a very experienced swimmer to do this activity, just well enough to swim a short distance to the device and float for a while. However, if you don’t decide to get in the water, you can still see manta rays from the boat. Once time is up, everyone goes back to the boat and they ask for the wetsuits back. This is where I made a mistake - I should have brought a towel on the boat for this part because it was a bit cold. It took another 15-20 to head back in the boat, and that was it!

Don’t miss this one, you will regret it. - Our party of seven had an amazing time. This was our first time doing the Nighttime Manta Ray dive and it was everything we could have hoped for. Keanu was super helpful and very knowledgeable, and Captain Kelly did his best to navigate the choppy waters in the dark. Make sure to bring a GoPro or waterproof camera.

Not for the seasick - Party of 6. Two people got sea sick. 4 people enjoyed. It took 15 minutes of being in the water before seeing a manta ray.
