A wonderful experience - The crew made everyone comfortable. Rick shared interesting information about manta rays as they were swimming with us. Definitely recommend.

Wow…just WOW!!! - We did the 8:45pm tour. Reading comments for all operators, we decided on SeaQuest. They provide cleansed snorkel gear, wetsuits, and floats for your feet, so you need only a swimsuit and a towel. No worries about keeping yourself afloat! The parking is shared with other companies, but at our hour, we were pulling up as others were leaving. We had registered online and completed safety waivers prior to our arrival, so check-in through the gift shop was very quick. (Btw, the logo for SeaQuest looks great on the hats and clothing they sell!) Moments after taking a seat in their open patio area, we were provided options of a wetsuit vest or a short-sleeved/legged wetsuit. We opted for the latter for the extra buoyancy and suggested warmth. Our group was about 20 in total. As a group we were divided and were paired with our snorkel tour hosts and guided to the boat. They gathered our shoes and towels/cell phones for safe keeping and then we loaded the boat, which was a rigid hull inflatable. I was a bit worried about seasickness as many had commented about it in darkness, but the dock was lit, the boat glided through the water, and we traveled only a short distance with shore in sight. Not only did the captain’s skill ease any concerns, but his interactions with our group did as well. Each company we researched emphasized a person’s recent history of snorkeling. We were not certain what to expect. We were provided our snorkel gear and a pool noodle to use under our arms as we made our way out to the light boards and then to rest our feet on during the experience. Once we slid over the side, it was a few seconds swim to the floating light boards and the crew was in the water assisting with placement of the pool noodle at our ankles and any other concerns we had. They welcomed anyone to return to the boat at anytime, but not one of us did. It was nice that they offered. Before we were all set up, we had sightings!!! What a thrill!!! I had imagined seeing one or two, but we truly chose the perfect date and time. It was non-stop action. The manta rays were so huge, yet so very gentle. We ooh’d and aww’d the entire time. To watch the plankton glitter in the water and the random curious fish was just the bow on top! Our tour hosts provided names and fun facts about the manta rays and answered all questions we had. (There are a couple of the host guys that try their best at comedy! 👀 They were a hoot!) It was a little sad to say goodbye. After we rejoined the captain, everyone was elated and reliving the experience. A quick 5-minute, gentle return ride back and we gathered our gear and headed back to the open patio. We were greeted with hot cocoa and chocolate cookies. After a quick change out of the wetsuits, we left wrapped in our towels sipping our hot cocoa, which was wonderfully warming. The SeaQuest staff exceeded our expectations. They calmed any and all fears we had. Their professionalism was admirable and concern for our well-being /enjoyment was sincere. The manta ray experience is a MUST for anyone even remotely curious! Yes, it IS…THAT AWESOME!

Amazing and Unique Experience - What a unique and amazing experience. A neighbor insisted we go when we came to the Big Island, and she was so right. The manta rays are such wonderfully playful creatures, and the staff at Sea Quest was professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and safety-oriented. This is a must-do when you are in Kona.

Amazing experience! Sea Quest is first class!!! - This is a MUST DO and Sea Quest is the BEST! We’ve done this tour three times now; our first time we did the Night Snorkel with the Manta Rays was last year with another company and while it was great, it did not compare to the first class experience with Sea Quest. I wanted my kids and grandkids to experience it and so we extended our family vacation to include Kona and booked the snorkel with Sea Quest (second time using them). My grandkids are 10 and 13, and though a little apprehensive at first, the crew made them feel comfortable and they are still talking about it!!! It was the highlight of our trip! We highly recommend doing this activity and doing it with Sea Quest!!!

Amazing experience! - 10/10 would recommend! Our group of 12 from ages 11-50 enjoyed! The manta rays were beautiful and so much activity in our time out there! The kids were amazed! The hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch after!

Best experience in Hawaii - We had a great time. The Manta rays were acrobatic and enchanting. The staff was helpful and kind and knowledgeable. This is a must for everyone who visits the Big Island.

Gotta love giant manta rays right in your face! - Talk about up close and personal! Wow, those beautiful giants were right in our faces! Sometimes doing barrel rolls and sometimes looking like they were going to swallow us up. Big, beautiful, gentle giants. And so many of them. Great crew made us all feel very safe. A fantastic time we will never forget.

Indescribable experience with manta ray snorkel - Wow! What an amazing experience with Sea Quest Hawaii. We went out in their 7:15 pm night manta ray snorkel and experienced something that’s indescribable. Booking was easy and check in flawless. After fitting us with wetsuits and breaking us into small groups we boarded their boat for a short 5 minute boat ride to manta village. We were provided with masks and snorkels and the wonderful crew briefed us on how to enter the water and what to do once we reached the light board that attracts the manta rays. As we held onto the light boards we floated for 30 minutes where at least 5 manta rays glided in front of us providing us with a close up view of these majestic sea creatures. They were so close they brushed against us and I was in awe of their beauty and grace as they danced around us. Kudos to the crew who were helpful and friendly. It’s obvious they love what they do and care. Brendan, Leah, Nolan,Michelle, Kainalu, and Kapono - you all rock!

Fun and Educational - Excellent experience, everyone involved was very professional and knowledgeable. Captain Nick and crew Rick, MJ, and Kobe were all awesome. We saw many mantas, I personally was touched by them multiple times.
