- Ala-archa National Park - Ala-Archa National Park is situated about 35 km south of Bishkek, the capital city. Established in 1976, it spans 16,485 hectares. The park is named after the Ala-Archa River that runs through it. In Kyrgyz, ‘archa’ refers to a vibrant or multi-colored juniper, which is highly valued by the Kyrgyz people, who traditionally use its smoke to ward off evil spirits.
The park’s landscapes are diverse, featuring both lush, tree-covered areas and snow-capped peaks.
Additionally, visitors can hand-feed little red squirrels and black birds that have gained their trust.
