Additional Information

Upon reaching Bitola, you’ll notice Mount Pelister and Pelister National Park on the right. This is Macedonia’s smallest yet oldest national park, renowned for its ancient Molika pine trees and diverse flora and fauna. It also preserves rare glacial lakes known as the Pelister Eyes. The park is a popular winter ski destination, featuring hotels and ski-lifts.

In Bitola, we will visit the church of St. Dimitri. We’ll also take a brief look at the Yeni Mosque, built in 1559 and now serving as an art gallery, followed by the Yahdar-Kadi Mosque (constructed in 1562) and the Isak Mosque (built in 1508-09).

At the town’s center stands the Clock Tower, with the River Dragor flowing through the area. Sirok Sokak, a long pedestrian street, is famous for its beautiful 19th-century houses. Bitola is known for its consulates and is also the town where the Manaki brothers, pioneers in photography, opened their Studio of Art Photography in 1905.
