Highlights
  • Maracas Lookout - Great scenic views of the North Coast, Northern Range and the Caribbean Sea. (Option to stop to take photos)

  • Maracas Bay - Popular beach destination for locals and foreigners alike. (Option to stop to buy food or take photos)

  • Las Cuevas - The second most popular beach destination. (To view in passing)

  • Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge - The tour begins when we pick up the traveler/s at their accommodation. From there, we make our way to the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge which is the start of the Paria Hike.

  • Marianne River - See the Spring bridge, and the Marianne river which flows under it. (Option to take photos)

  • QPVP+VW2 Blanchisseuse - Turtle Rock - Impressive rock formation offering views of the sea and coastline. (To take photos and listen to the sound of waves crashing)

  • QPVR+MQ Blanchisseuse - Paria Arch - Large coastal Arch. ( Option to take photos or view in passing)

  • Paria Bay - While at this end, we stop briefly to admire the Paria Arch. Next, we walk the length of the sandy Paria Bay (~800m) as we need to get to the other side of the bay. Beautiful beach. (To walk across and enjoy)

  • Paria Falls - We stop and enjoy Paria Waterfall for about 30min - swim, take photos, and relax.
After this, we must walk all the way back to the beginning along the same trail. Hence, the entire hike involves about 16km of hiking.

  • Richard’s Bake & Shark - On the drive back (approx. 1hr), I give the option to stop off at the popular Maracas Bay to have the famous Bake & Shark or some other local food (approx 40min). Since this is an option, this additional expense will be covered by the traveler. However, although it is an option, most people do opt for it as they are definitely hungry after the hike.

Amazing, magical, beautiful, unexpected - If you’re in Trinidad, go on this hike with Matthew!!! It was truly magical and wonderful from start to finish. Matthew is an incredible guide - present, fun, curious, knowledgeable, and engaged. We hiked through beautiful (and challenging) terrain in the rainforest, ventured out onto Turtle Rock, swam under the Paria waterfall, explored every pristine and private beach along the way, and so much more. The flora is amazing and the views and sights are breathtaking. Matthew adjusted the intensity of the hike based on my sense of adventure and not wanting to miss one thing along the way. He was mindful of my safety and comfort, as well as making sure I stayed hydrated and took time to rest, as needed. He prioritized taking as much time as I wanted to truly appreciate the views and overall experience. If you’re looking for a unique way to see Trinidad through the eyes of someone with a deep appreciation for the beauty of the island, and who also understands the importance of connecting with nature and the benefits of movement / health - go on this hike with Matthew. Your expectations will be exceeded!
