Partake in the rich tradition of Italy’s cuisine with this interactive cooking workshop, hosted in a local residence and instructed by a skilled Italian home chef. Gain insights into the mysteries of iconic Bologna dishes and savour your own creations for lunch or dinner, complimented with local wines.
You’re provided with a fully equipped working area complete with tools and ingredients, and your host will share the special techniques for preparing 3 traditional Bologna dishes (appetiser, fresh pasta and dessert), passed down through generations of mothers and grandmothers. After your class, join your Italian family at the table and sample the dishes you’ve prepared, paired with an assortment of regional wines.
This event is hosted by Cesarine, the longest-standing network of home chefs and wine connoisseurs in Italy. Cesarine are enthusiastic and hospitable hosts, inviting inquisitive travellers into their homes for in-depth culinary adventures. Each host is thoroughly vetted for their adherence to authentic culinary traditions.

Hands on, welcoming, delicious - Adriana was a fabulous host. During our visit we welcomed into her house walking distance from our hotel in the heart of Bologna. She was very accommodating as we wanted to make the traditional tortellini in the both, as this is a winter dish, she was still able to accept our request. During our time, we enjoyed some aperitivo . We made two types of pasta as well as some delicious tiramisu. Not only was the food and company great, her backyard where we ate was beautiful!

Cooking experience with Roberta in Bologna - Our cooking experience with Roberta was amazing! She welcomed us in her beautiful home and shared her culture and skills with us. The recipes were delicious, with fresh herbs and great ingredients. We even got to try the local bread and wine. Roberta was great company, very sweet, and knowledgeable. Lovely kitchen and setting to cook in, we highly recommend the experience to anyone who likes to cook!

Cultural experience - It was a cultural experience to be in the home of a local cooking with local ingredients. I highly recommend to foodies and non foodies. Our host Roberta was exceptional.

Pasta making with Paola was PERFECTO!! - Our private pasta making class and dinner with Paola was PERFECTO! She has a lovely and inviting home and personality! Her English was great too and very friendly and easy to communicate with. The entire meal was excellent from start to finish and she did a great job teaching us how to make the pasta. We definitely didn’t walk away hungry! We left with full bellies and big smiles! A great experience from start to finish! BRAVO!

Great local experience you wont get anywhere else! - The host was ultra nice and understanding. We made 2 pastas and one dessert. It was the most memorable thing we could do coming to Italy from USA. We would do it again in every city we go to.

Fun learning - This was a great way to spend a few hours in Bologna. Elena and Saverio were welcoming in their eclectic home and instructed us well and shared insights in how to get the best flavours out of the excellent local ingredients. It was a delight eating the meal we had prepared.

The best Italian experience! - I booked a cooking class in Bologna for my son and me. Rosa was amazing! We felt so welcome in her home....like part of her family. Her cooking instructions were perfect and we produced a three course meal (plus piadina) in our three hours. This included the best pasta I've ever eaten...and made it!
The best experience of my Italian adventure. If I could give more than five stars I would.

Incredible Food and intimate local experience - We had the most incredible time cooking with Rosa in the "Emilia Romagna: the queen of good food cooking" Cesarine course. A definite highlight of our three week Italian holiday! We did the class with our two daughters age 4 and 1.5. Rosa was so great with the girls! She got them both involved in every step even giving them their own workspace, aprons and rolling pins. In addition to the delicious food, we enjoyed spending the afternoon/evening talking with Rosa. We learned not only about Bolognese cuisine but also the Italian lifestyle and culture. I highly recommend Rosa's class to anyone looking for an intimate local experience.

Authentic one-on-one cooking experience in Rosa’s kitchen - My husband and I were lucky enough to book a one of a kind in-home cooking class for our honeymoon with Rosa. Rosa had each dish expertly timed, and patiently encouraged and educated us as we made a three course meal together. Everything was delicious and “re-creatable” without purchasing a pasta machine back home! We loved that Rosa took time to get to know us, the conversation, wine, and food flowed freely. Rosa welcomed us into her home and her life in such a way that we left feeling as though we’d visited a dear friend in their home for lunch. Rosa kindly took photos to share with us after the class and will be sending us the recipes via email. We even left with her gelato and dinner/ live music recommendations for the evening! This is a “must do” experience for any food lovers in search of an authentic local experience when in Bologna.
